I've been heartbroken all weekend, I couldn't focus on writing, schoolwork, nor the race truly. This weekend was horrible and good.
Unlikely this is racing, accidents happen and we can't do anything about it. FIA made Formula much much safer than it was but it will never be totally safe. I'm so happy Charles won his first race today. Now his first win doesn't only mean his first win but also a last 'goodbye' to Anthoine.
With this, we'll never forget this weekend. We must make sure that he'll never be forgotten. I haven't watched him race a lot, but this shakes the whole world. I watched the race he crashed and I'll never be able to unsee the crash, all I could hope was "please let them be alright.".
We can never forget that everytime they take their seats in the racing car they're risking their lifes, it should get a lot more appreciation than it gets. Every race could be their last. Everyone should pray in their own way for their safety before they take off, better sure than sorry. Fate rules, but when coincidence comes in sight, fate might change it's path. Drivers drive in their own coffins, we should remember that.
I don't know what I'd do if this would happen to one of my favs, that's why all my thoughts are with the family, friends and fans or Anthoine Hubert. This was the first death I've seen in Formula and it shocked me.
He's up there, racing with the many great faces Formula has seen.
Rest in peace and speed.
