"You don't care about being late for school! You have skipped class a few times already, now, come here and eat. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." My mother demanded and I sighed.

Entering the kitchen, I sat down at the kitchen table where a plate with scrambled eggs and toast stood. I looked at my breakfast disgusted and tried not to gag. I never liked eggs, but my mother insisted in me eating them...I don't know why.

"Mooom!!" I whined. "Why eggs? You know what I think of them!!!" I added. My mother rolled her eyes as she looked at me.

"You need their vitamins in your system, now eat. " She said, turning all cold towards me. I scrunched my nose and stabbed a piece of toast with egg on my fork before putting it in my mouth, quickly chewing on it and swallowing it.

"But they look like bird poo!!!" I continued to whine, making my mother roll her eyes but a small smile appeared on her lips.

"What are you laughing about?" I questioned, pushing the plate slightly away from me.

"It's just funny because it's true." My mom said and I furrowed my eyebrows. Normally, she would ignore my comment and continue with her bitter motherhood...okay, she wasn't bitter, but she had her times!

I laughed and put another piece of breakfast in my mouth. I may not like scrambled eggs, but my mother worked for it to buy it and make it so I should at least show her some kind of appreciation. After breakfast, I kissed my mom goodbye and exited my house, heading for school which was a ten minute walk froom my house.

As I walked on the school yard, I spotted my three friends. Rapunsel, Melody, and Tiana. They waved at me and I waved back before joining their group.

"Happy Birthday Jade!!!" They said in chorus as they hugged me. I laughed and hugged them all back before pulling away and smiling widely at them.

"Thank you!! How have you girls been?" I questioned.

"We're fine. But...how are you?" Melody asked.

"Yeah, have you got any new information about your father?" Rapunsel chimmed in.

My shoulders slumped and I sadly looked down at the ground, shaking my head 'no'. The girls glanced at each other in sadness and then looked back at me. Tiana then but an arm around my shoulders, pressing my body into her side.

"Oh come on girl. You'll meet him someday, that day hasn't just come yet." She reasured me and I gave her a small smile.

"You're right, I just need to wait." I said, a little bit of hope flickering like a candle inside me.

We then turned around to walk into the school when my eyes landed upon Alek, Hercule's and Megera's son, who was standing with his group of friends not far away from me and the girls.

I stopped dead in my tracks, staring at the beautiful boy that was just a few feet away from me.

"Wow, is it just me or is Alek looking good today?" Melody spoke up.

"He's always looking good. He's the son of a half God, he doesn't have much of a choice." Tiana replied.

"Let's go before he sees me." I said, turning around to leave but Rapunsel and Melody held me in place.

"Woah woah wait, haven't you asked him to your party yet?" Rapunsel stated, making me look down in shame as my cheeks tinted red.

As you have probably figured out by now, I have a crush on Alek, I had a crush on him ever since he returned from Olympus this summer. We used to play together when we were little and as we grew up but unfortunately, I am a girl and he is a boy so we grew apart. Sure, we still hang out some times but things have changed. And so have my feelings for him.
