Outside in the streets I pulled my hood over my head, and tied my scarf over my mouth. I didn't want to be recognised. The rain pelted down and splashed over the cobbled pathways. The sky was dark, and the alleyways were lit by only streetlamps. I speed-walked to the city, where the Remeirs' house was located. I was slightly chilly, but there was nothing I could do about it.

After a few hours, I found the place. The moon shined in the dark sky, I looked up and said my prayers. My eyes flashed towards the drainpipe, and as quickly and as quietly as I could muster, I scrambled up. I peeked through several windows till I found, what I thought, was Zak's room. The window was open, which made my life easier. Using all my strength, I pulled the window open and climbed inside.

Zak was probably awake when I climbed in, because he turned around all of a sudden, and screamed. Well he tried to. I got there first, with my hands on his mouth. The sound was muffled. He made an attempt to throw off my hand, but I picked him up and threw him against the wall. I could feel blood, but he was still conscious and it was hard to make out anything else. I walked swiftly towards him, and grabbed the candle on the table. I waved it in front of his face, and got the shock of my life.

Skeppy!!? No no no no NO! It can't be! I can't kill my best friend?! I stared at his face. His eyes were flooded with tears, and nose smeared with blood. He just stared at me. I felt sick. Tears were forming in my eyes now, but I blinked them away. I picked up my gun and held it to his forehead.

'Just kill me,' Zak mumbled. I felt a stab to my heart. Zak was my only friend. Nobody ever wanted to talk to me since I was from a poor background. He was closing his eyes really tight now, waiting for me to pull the trigger. But I couldn't.

Zak

I heard a loud bang, piercing the quiet atmosphere. I relaxed, but didn't dare open my eyes. I felt no pain, but my thoughts were slowly fading away. Suddenly everything went black.
