The tall guy with brown hair raised his eyebrows at Corbyn as he walked in with me. Corbyn shrugged.
"Persephone." Zach breathed as I sat next to him on the desk next to Corbyn and Jonah.
"Hey, Zach." I gave him a smile.
"What are you doing with her?" I overheard the guy ask.
"She's-,"
"I wanna be your friend." I shrugged. Zach's jaw dropped.
"Really?"
"Don't flatter yourself too much." I rolled my eyes.
"Really?" The guy asked.
"Yes." I rolled my eyes again.
"Well... ok then." He said, "I'm Jonah."
"I'm Persephone," I said.
"Oh, I know." Jonah looked down and smiled. I raised my eyebrow just as another guy walked over.
"Dude! I thought we were part- Persephone?" The guy raised both his eyebrows.
"That's me." I shrugged, "And you are?"
"J-Jack...." He looked at Zach, weirdly.
"She's our friend now." Zach nodded before turning to me, "We're having soft tacos later."
"I can't believe you just invited her to Taco Tuesday." Corbyn said, "You can come, of course-,"
"Tacos sound great," I said. Daniel walked in and spotted us all.
"Oh, Daniel. You're my partner now." Jack smiled.
"I-I thought... Zach was." Daniel kept his eyes glued on me.
"Persephone's my partner." Zach shrugged.
"Oh... right," Daniel muttered.
"Ok, don't this the wrong way..." Jonah said to me at the lunch table, "But you are way cooler than expected." The guys murmured in agreement.
"Thanks, I guess." I shrugged.
"I always thought you were badass." Zach smiled at me.
"Don't go soft on me, Herron." I pushed his head, lightly.
"We should probably go to work on our project," Daniel said to me.
"Ok." I shrugged, getting up. "Bye, guys."
"Bye."
Daniel and I walked down the corridor until we bumped into Mr Kutcher.
"Finished the tour yet?" He joked. I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Me and Daniel are friends now," I told him.
"Oh, really?" Mr Kutcher looked at Daniel.
"I know right? I actually have friends now." I smirked, "Come on, pretty boy."
"Ok. I've made you some flashcards." Daniel handed me a stack of cards, tied together with an elastic band.
"Greatly appreciated." I nodded as I took them and dropped them into my bag.
"Daniel?" Addy shrieked as she walked into the library.
"Shush. It's a library." I put a finger to my lips and smiled. They both ignored me.
"What are you doing with her?" Addy asked.
