I rushed back over to the store and saw her waiting on the steps. She had her knees to her chest crying. I got out the car and walked up to her.

"Please don't hurt me, I don't have any money."

"Sea, it's just me."

She ran up to me and embraced me, it was a little awkward but I understand that she was happy to be saved.

I got her bags and loaded them into my trunk while she got into the car. As soon as I got in the car she broke down and told me the truth about her being homeless. I felt for her because she seemed like a nice girl who got dealt some pretty bad cards.

"You know you're welcome to stay with me until you get on your feet Seana." She looked over and I couldn't help but notice how her dark curly hair complimented her rich chocolate skin. She honestly looked good enough to ea— wait lemme stop she a child.

"I wouldn't want to impose on your privacy. You don't need a teenage girl running around you house, without contributing to something. I don't want to be one of those girls."

Those girls? I'm confused.

"You right. I don't necessarily need a teenage girl to be running around my lil crib, but I wouldn't mind helping you out. And what do you mean by those girls?"

"I mean those girls who have to depend on a guy for anything. I'm not finished high school and I'm dead broke with no job. I'm not in any condition to pay you back anytime soon." I could tell she was stressing over the situation.

"Seana calm down I don't want you to pay me back. You just remind me of someone I used to know. And plus my dukes would beat my ass if Ian try to help you. She loves to preach about how certain people are put into your life for a reason. Their reason is either to help you or for you to help them, and Sea you need my help Mamas." I hope I got through to her, cause she bout stubborn as a mule.

"Sanity I can't just live with you because we're strangers."

"Hello nice to meet you, I'm Sanity Othello. What's ya name?" She couldn't help but laugh at my stupidity, and I eventually joined in.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Othello. My name is Seana Washington." I couldn't help but laugh at her last name.

"What's so funny Othello?"

"That nutass last name. Like what the hell kind of last name for a black girl."

"Shut up San!" She put emphasis on San and I wanted to swerve the car cause she wanna be smart.

"So we not strangers no mo Babygirl?"

"I Guess not." I swear her smile is contagious and I couldn't help but smile.

"At least let me contribute around the house in some way." She just won't let up will she.

"How about you just clean up a little bit and cook for us in exchange of rent?"

"Sounds good." That's all I needed to hear.

We pulled up to my house in no time. We made conversation throughout the whole drive here. Seana has an amazing personality and her sense of humour is out of this world.

We got inside my 4 bedroom house, and I gave her a mini tour. She loved everything especially the kitchen. She told me that she loves to eat even though it doesn't look like it.

Now it's time to go over the rules.

"So my rules are simple and you shouldn't have any problems followin 'em. Rule number one, Respect my crib. That means don't have no lil niggas knockin on my door looking fa ya ass. No niggas in my house period.

"But what if I got a dick appointment?" I slick wanted to grab her ass up, but she ain't mine so I can't.

"Then you betta getcho dick on the sidewalk for all I care." She was cracking up but I didn't see shit funny.

"Boy fix ya face ain't nobody getting no dick no time soon. Nobody checking for me." I could be tho, I thought in my head.

"What was that Othello?" Oh shit she heard me!

"No—Nothing. Next rules are to just clean up behind yourself and clean up around the house. I don't expect you to do much since I pretty much have it covered."

"That's fine."

"You don't have a phone right?"

She dropped her head in embarrassment and shook it saying no.

"Aye no need to feel ashamed girl, you good I gotchu. We gon get you one tomorrow."

She looked up smiled while thanking me. I never thought I would actually be helping someone out but here I am. I just hope she doesn't pull me in too much cause Ian ready to catch no case. Yeah she bad as hell but my freedom ain't worth a nut that I can get from any hoe."

"You don't realise how much I appreciate this Sanity. I didn't think that someone would attempt to look out for me after all I'm kind of broken."

There go that damn word that I can't stand. I didn't like how hard she was on herself.

I lifted her chin up with my index finder and looked into her eyes and said—

"You are not broken, and don't let anyone tell you differently. You are strong and intelligent and you can make it Sea, I believe in you.

She embraced me for the second time tonight but this time it wasn't awkward. I actually enjoyed it. It's been a while since I felt a woman's touch. I'm gonna have to keep my hands to myself—for now.
