My eyes quickly fluttered open. I groggily peered at my surroundings, then became alarmed. Where was I? I closed my eyes and tried to remember what happened when a sharp pain shot through my head.

The crane...the boy... I saved him... My powers...

My memories flooded back. I opened my eyes.

I thought I would be in a hospital, you know, with falling unconscious and all, but my surroundings said otherwise. It looked more like a room in someone's home. To my left was a nightstand with a cup of cold tea.

Just then, a man, about fifty or so, walked in and looked at my. He had gray hair, kind brown eyes, and a cleanly shaven face.

"Where am I?' I demanded. I bolted upright and pain shot through my head.

"Careful." The man said. His voice held a feeling strangers had never shown toward me. Genuine concern. "You hit your head when you fell unconscious. Lay down, or you'll take longer to heal."

I followed reluctantly. In any other situation, I would have ignored them, but something in this man's eyes felt familiar. Comfortable. Besides if he was dangerous, he could've done something to me while I was out.

"Where am I?" I asked again.

"In my monastery." The man answered. I noticed his clothes. Sensei robes. I relaxed, but only a little bit. This could be a trick.

"You got knocked unconscious when you saved that boy's life.' The man explained.

    "Y..you were watching?"

"If we weren't, you would not have gotten the proper treatment for your elemental strain." He answered.

We? Wait. Elemental strain... He knows about my powers? I thought.

"So you saw me use my powers." I decided to say.

The sensei nodded his response to my question.

"How do you know about elemental powers?" I asked him.

Nobody I met knew about them, I figured that knowing about elemental powers wasn't common knowledge. Then again, I didn't know much about them myself. Besides, if this man really did know a lot about them, being a sensei, he could help my control... No. I can't trust him.

I wrung my silver bracelet around my wrist. A nervous habit.

The man stared at it. No, the symbol on it. My...father's symbol. The sensei blinked then resumed conversation.

"I work a lot with them." The man answered, though he sounded as though he were  talking more about people than the actual powers.

"Besides, I am a sensei. I should know about these things." He added with a smile.

I felt comfortable around this man. He seemed nice, and he didn't seem to be lying about the sensei thing.

"You should rest." The sensei said. He turned to leave, but then looked back at and pulled out something from a robe pocket and handed it to me. My dagger? I didn't even notice it was gone from it usual spot. In my belt, and tucked, hidden, under my shirt.

"I had to take it away, in case you rolled on it. You can have it back." The sensei said. I decided he was safe now. An enemy wouldn't give you your weapon. He turned to leave again.

"Wait." I said. "I didn't catch your name."

    "Garmadon."

    "I'm Angie."

Once those words popped out of my mouth, Sensei Garmadon's eyes changed drastically, as if he had a suspicion in his head and my words confirmed it true. As if... he knew me.
