Chapter 1: Frenemies?

Lauren's POV

As I walked through the school doors I was a nervous wreck, until I found my friends Camila, Normani, and Ally. I ran up to then and we went into a group hug. As our group hug ended I heard the voice I've been dreading to hear, Dinah Janes. She is the school bully and me and my friends are her victims. Dinah said "there's the losers." All my friends and me quickly spun around to be face to face with Dinah. Dinah then said "normani I seen your dancing, your pretty cool."

Normani's POV

Honestly I was shocked to hear her say that. Wait, when did she see me dance? I really can not think of any time that she would have seen me dance, it's kind of weird. "um...thank you?" I reply to her not really knowing what to say.

Camila's POV

Why is Dinah suddenly being nice to us, well Normani at least...this is starting to get weird.

Dinah's POV

I just nodded my head and then I made a quick decision to say "Normani, do you maybe wanna be friends?... you too Ally" I don't really even know why I asked them that but I did. They are both beautiful, Normani is a great dancer and Ally is small and fierce. This definitely will work in my favor...

Lauren's POV

I just stared in shock. I can't believe she really just asked that... Normani and Ally better say no. Normani and Ally just looked at each other and then they both said "Okay, yeah we will be friends..." wait, what the fuck. Did I really just hear that correctly. "You've got to be fucking kidding me" I say without thinking. "you're really going to do that to us?" Camila asked Normani and Ally. They just looked at us and then walked off with Dinah. I looked over at Camila and she was on the verge of tears. So, I wrapped my arms around her waist and hugged as tight as I could and said "Everything is going to be alright Camz. We got each other and that's all we need." She looked up at me and smiled a little and then the bell rang so I walked Camila to class and then went off to mine. All I knew is that today is gonna be a harder day than I thought it was gonna be.

Camila's POV

I can't believe Normani and Ally really did that to us...we have been friends since elementary school and they can just ditch us like that. Did we ever really mean anything to them?... Were they ever really our friends or were they playing us for Dinahs amusement?

Those were the questions running through my mind throughout the school day. It was now lunch time and I was meeting up with Lauren at our lockers so that we could eat lunch together. We always eat lunch together no matter what, it just grew to be a daily routine. While waiting for Lauren I seen Normani, Dinah and Ally laughing with each other down at the end of the hallway. Right after I seen them Lauren came over and hugged me and we went to go to the lunch room to eat something.

As we were walking to the lunch room Dinah, Normani and Ally walked up to us and Dinah said "Are y'all like dating or something? because it sure seems like it" I looked over at Lauren confused and then I said "No, we obviously aren't dating. We are just Best friends". "Well don't they look like a couple?" Dinah said and then turned to look at Normani and Ally. They just put their heads down and didn't say anything, which I was thankful for. Dinah just walked off and they followed with, thankfully they were going the opposite way than the cafeteria.

Lauren's POV

I just out my arm around Camilas shoulders and walked the rest of the way to the cafeteria. We both got our food and ate. We then went off to finish the rest of the school day.

At the end of the day I met with Camila at our lockers because I told her I'd give her a ride home from school until she got her car. I put my arm around her shoulder and then we walked to my car. The ride to Camila's house was quiet. When we arrived at the destination I stopped and parked the car. Camila looked over at me and said "Thank you..." I looked at her confused and said "Why are you thanking me?... you have nothing to thank me for..." Camila looked at me and then bit her lip and said "Thank you... for not leaving as well..." I looked at her for a second and then I grabbed her hand and said "Don't thank me Camzi. I'll always be here for you through everything thick and thin, you know that. You're my best friend and no one can offer me anything that would make me leave your side or change the fact that I'm your best friend forever" Camila smiled really big and then wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a huge hug. Camila then whispered in my ear "Bye Lolo, I'll see you tomorrow." she then kissed my cheek and left the car and walked into her house.

I just sat there blushing and smiling so hard. She makes me feel so amazing and different.... I really don't know how to explain it....But nothing could ever make me leave Camilas side, EVER.

Camila's POV

Why did I just do that? oh my god, she probably thinks I'm so weird. I guess we will see if she still calls me later on tonight... I walked into the kitchen and my mom was in there "Hey mija, how was school?" she asked. "It was okay mama. You won't be seeing Mani and Ally much anymore though" "And why is that Karla?" She replied with her eyebrows raised. "They ditched us to be friends with Dinah. It's fine though mama. I still got Lauren, that's all that matters" My mom smirked at me and then said "Okay mija, as long as you're happy..." I went over and kissed her on the cheek and then grabbed a water bottle and headed up stairs to my room, which is where I spend most of my time.

It's about 9:30pm right now and I'm about to fall asleep when I hear my phone start to ring. I look at the screen and see it's Lauren, I let out a sigh of relief because she must not be wierded out about earlier. and well of course I answered....

Hey

Hey Camzi, How was your day after school?

It was pretty good Lo, How was yours?

Mine was okay, I'd much rather be hanging with you though...

she really just said that... I was blushing like crazy and smiling like a fucking idiot

Hello?.... Camz are you there?

yes, I'm sorry I'm here

Okay good. Well I hope you sleep tonight Camzi, Goodnight...

You too Lolo. Goodnight...

We then hung up the phone and I went to bed happier than I have in a while....
