POEM 15| Money

Who would have thought

that pieces of paper equate power,

to trade pride for temporary laughter,

to bend the truth at an hour,

loyalty and trust vanished in thin air

.

Money build mansions

But it can also destroy homes

Friends turned to foes

Family to strangers

.

Money can take off people's mask

It can convert your dignity to trash

There's those who'll drag you down
because they have less

There's those who have more but no contentment at all

.

Money seems to be everything in this circular world,

Lies will be dressed as truth
and truth as lies,

Faith to God, they compromised

Hiding on fancy disguise

.

But money isn't forever

All of us will be buried deeper

And meet the highest impartial master

Who will judge not based on the thickness of your wallet,

but on good deeds.
