[ ;; RULES ]

As with all other similar challenges, there are some rules you must follow to keep everything running smoothly. There aren't many! Please be mindful of these rules so this experience is more enjoyable for everyone.

+

ONE ;; YOU HAVE THREE WEEKS TO WRITE THE PROMPT. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

We understand that there may be last-minute conflicts. Please notify us if you do, and we'll work it out. Your drabble will not be published if it is submitted late and if you have not notified us beforehand (can you imagine all that wasted effort because you missed a deadline?). You will also be unable to participate in the next round.

+

TWO ;; YOUR DRABBLE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1.5K WORDS.

It's recommended that you go as in-depth as possible, whether that means you need to use 3k words for fuller descriptions or 1.5k words with more concise descriptions. Please note that being wordy does not equate to better writing and we will be taking that into consideration when we decide what to publish.

An exception to this rule is if you are writing poetry, but if this is the case, it must be well thought out.

+

THREE ;; THE TRADING OF GENRES IS NOT ALLOWED.

Your assigned genre will be your genre for the round. No exceptions. The purpose of this challenge is to step outside of your comfort zone and write in styles you have never written before, so please, don't take the shortcut! If it makes you feel any better, know that there will be others who are as uncomfortable as you are! Just try your best.

Cheating will not be tolerated. If we catch you trading with other participants, before or after sign-ups, you will be blacklisted and prohibited to participate in future rounds.

+

FOUR ;; EACH DRABBLE MUST HAVE A DIFFERENT INTERPRETATION OF THE PROMPT.

This is another part of the challenge. Interpretation pitches are on a first-come, first-serve basis. If someone who submitted before you has a similar interpretation to the prompt as you, then you must think of a new interpretation. So get your creative juices flowing quickly!

**Pitches will be explained in the next chapter.**

+

FIVE ;; ADD THIS BOOK TO YOUR LIBRARY AND PUBLIC READING LIST.

That's right! No follow necessary. The purpose of this challenge is to encourage all writers of all levels to hone their skills, not so we can get followers. :) The only favor we ask is to add this challenge into your library for updates and your public reading list to spread the word.

Other than that, just follow steps in the next chapter!

+

SIX ;; BE RESPECTFUL!

We strive to be drama-free. Please be polite to all admins who organized this challenge, participants who spent their time writing one-shots, and readers who kindly support this book.
