iv. Lauren and Rory's first day at Chilton ( 𝘱𝘵. 𝘰𝘯𝘦 )

𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗢𝗥𝗬'𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗧𝗢𝗡

"That's nice." Lorelai says painting Rory's toenails red.

"Thank you."

"Don't move please."

"So, why are you insisting on doing this?" Lauren asks waiting for her toenails to dry.

"Well, because you're starting private school tomorrow."

"Yeah, but I'm going to be wearing shoes. Nobody's gonna see my feet." Rory replies.

"Okay, but everybody knows that private-school girls are bad, and bad girls always wear red nailpolish. Are you nervous?"

"About what?"

"About starting Chilton."

"Well, I wasn't until I heard about all those bad girls." Lauren replies.

"Guys, XTC-- Apple Venus volume 2!" Lane screams running towards the door.

Lorelai runs towards the door as well.

"But you only finished half of my toes!" Rory yells after them.

"Who cares?! You're gonna be wearing shoes anyway!"

the next morning

"MOM!" Rory yells seeing Lorelai still asleep.

"What? God. Hi."

"What are you doing?!" Lauren yells.

"Having a heart attack."

"I thought you were up!"

"It's 7:10!" Rory yells.

"What?"

"It's 7:10!"

"Stop it. It's a quarter to six."

"No, it's not!" Lauren says.

"Yes, it is. I set the clock for a quarter to six, so it's--" Lorelai sees the clock that Rory is holding in front of her. "7:10!"

"We can't be late on our first day of school! Do you know what happens to people when they're late on their first day?"

"It's shorter?"

"For the rest of the year they're labelled 'The Late Girl'" Rory says.

"Ohh so dramatic. Where's the bathroom?"

"We have to go!"

"What if there is traffic?!" Lauren panics.

"Mom!" Rory screams.

"I had this all planned."

"7:15" Lauren says after Lorelai comes out of the bathroom.

"7:16" Rory says.
