"And there's an old man sitting on the throne,
That's saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut"

AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET OUT, REGINA STILL COULDN'T GET THE RELUCTANT GUARD, THAT STOOD OUTSIDE, TO MOVE. She had tried her power on him, and still he would not budge.

Jane didn't even attempt to use her power on him, she couldn't, she needed to see her opponent to cause them pain - that was her only flaw.

It seemed that this man could not be affected whatsoever by anyone's gifts, no matter what that may be.

But, nevertheless Regina still knocked on the door, and asked to be let out.

The most she'd got out of him was just a few words, and his name: Alan.

Jane sighed, a little confused, "Why are still trying?"

She didn't seem to understand why Regina would want to go out of the safety of this room, no matter how secluded it may be.

So, she couldn't help but try to work out the reason that she was trying so desperately to escape.

"My friend is down there."

A frown crawled onto Jane's proclein face.

Friend?

She hadn't heard Regina mention anything about any friends that she had.

In fact come to think of it, she hadn't mentioned anything concerning her past at all.

"What?"

Jane couldn't help but wonder why?

The heartbeat indicated that the individual wasn't a vampire, which meant he was a human or something else then.

So, why was he here?

She looked to Regina for answers, but she just shrugged.

"Don't look at me; I don't know."

Regina knocked thrice on the door, trying to get Alan, their faithful guard's attention once again.

"Please let us out."

But Alan had had orders from the Kings, and he planned on sticking to them.

He didn't want to be the cause of the new Volturi Queen's death, he'd get killed if he did let anything happen to her, even a single scratch.

The Kings were moreso overprotective than anybody he had ever met.

So, again, he refused.

"I'm afraid I can't do that."

"But Alan..." Regina whined, as she tried to argue, but was cut off.

He didn't want something to happen to her, because if he did, it would be his fault.

"I'm sorry, my Queen. Really I am."

Regina huffed, before walking away from the door. Jane looked at her, with one eyebrow raised.

"Hmmph."

Regina began to pace, annoyed, trying to find a way out.

Whilst she paced, she examined the tower, and how high it was from the ground floor, evaluating the risk that she was about to take.
