When you start to attending one place long enough, you start to discover that some things always are there, and some, oppositely, appear and disappear without warnings, and probably haven't been there for long enough to memorize them all too well.

Ever since you started using your way to uni, you've never been too focused on it. The small road surrounded by variety of tenement houses was nothing to hang your eyes on. It felt slightly suffocating, with the narrow sidewalks and cars parked all over, because years ago, when the houses were built, no one considered that parking lots would one day come in handy.

As the time passed, you saw more and more. Some things never changed, like the buildings' colors and ornaments, and some always did, like the way the cars stood by the road, or the advertisements pinned to the walls.

But his presence was a thing you couldn't quite put in any of these categories. When you saw him for the first time, he was sitting on a smaller house's roof, barely lightened by the moonlight, because the street lamps wouldn't reach this high. But it's as if you didn't know, whether he's been there all along, or was it just you who never looked up to see him.

Next day, you didn't notice him on your way there. But then, when you were going back, you spotted him again. And in a span of week, you confirmed, that he sat there only at night, not doing anything, just staring up at the sky, which – if not the light pollution – would probably be full of stars.

In your head, he also became a stable piece of surroundings, and you'd always seek out for him, as if his presence only confirmed that no matter how the world changed, the mysterious man stayed still on his roof, in the place he belonged to.

The curiosity of yours never subsided, though. You found yourself making all sorts of stories, as to who the man could be. And one day, you found yourself unwittingly entering the house next to the one he was sat on, and climbing up the empty staircase, until you reached the highest floor and approached the small window that had a view right at the adjacent one's roof.

Then, you found yourself leaning against that window, to catch a better look of the lone silhouette. It seemed stunning, he was stunning. The profile of his face that you saw was almost perfect, and you stared at it, trying to get your eyes used to the lack of light. You tried to be as quiet as possible, to not startle him, so when through the slightly ajar window you heard words being spoken, it was you who was startled instead.

"Am I such a beautiful sight to behold?"

You are, you wanted to say, but you only stared forward, as if to make sure it was surely you he was talking to.

And then he turned his head, staring directly in your eyes, with the softest smirk curling up the corners of his lips. He looked kind of cat-like, and you held your breath for a moment, just enough for him to chuckle, glancing down.

"U-um... Sorry" you mumbled. "I've been just seeing you here for a while, and grew curious."

He hummed, sparing you yet another glance.

"Wanna join me, then?"

You blinked, surprised.

"The window is too small to get through" you said with a breathy laughter.

"There's the roof's entry above your head, you need to reach it" the man answered, his smile unwavering.

You glanced up. The entry was there, a square-shaped space that could be easily opened like a normal door. You opened it then, and glanced through the hole that appeared. You had to reach really high to open it though, and even as you jumped, you barely caught onto the hole's edges, unable to pull yourself upwards.
