Toes grip the ledge,
Muscles tense as my gaze shifts:
The foggy unknown lays below.
A void of certainty.
The future.
I don't want to jump,
But my demons surround me.
They creep closer.
There's nowhere else to go.
Nowhere except down.
The wind tears through my hair
And every atom of my body screams.
My sanity starts to unravel
Like a sweater with a loose thread.
But I'm flying.
No restraints.
No chains.
Nothing holding me back.
It only takes a leap of faith.
