You can believe the latter if you want to, but if you don't, keep this in mind. Scientists can't even come close to completely defining time, even once time travel was invented. Some people who believed this tried to change it, but actually ended up causing it. Others who believed it, just went along with things. I'm not saying you can't change the future, but it's hard to if you don't know what makes the future how it is. Of course, there's people who don't believe it, in which case it doesn't really matter. Just remember, if these are true, and someone changes the future, NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW...
