The New Girl and the Popular Boy (Completed)

Chapter 1: First Day

"Wake up Ava, time for you to get ready for school." My mother said as she placed something on my burrow.

"What's that?" I asked pointing to the box that she placed on my burrow.

"I don't know, Kyle sent it to you." She said.

"Oh, what time is it?" I asked.

"It is 6:30 am and you need to be at school by 8:00 am." 

"Ok, I'll be down in little bit for breakfast," I said as she left the room. 

I picked up my phone to check if I had any missed calls or messages and I had 6 messages from my best friend Claire back home.

Claire: Hey, girl, I miss you.

Claire: Matt called me today and asked how you are doing. I just told him "fine".

Claire: Please answer me ASAP.

Claire: Ava, I need to talk to you now. Jason wants to talk to me and I don't think I'm ready yet.

Claire: I really need you here. I miss you soo much.

Claire: I hate that I am starting my Junior year without you. Call me.

Claire has been my best friend since we were born. Our parents were friends when they were in school. My father lost his job in May so we had to move to Hawaii. Since he lost it in May I still had school so I stayed at Claire's house until school ended and then I went to Hawaii by myself. My parents were lucky that my father's new job is by our summer house because I don't think we would have moved to Hawaii. I think we would have had to move to Idaho or Texas. I looked up from my phone and saw the gift on my burrow. Then a loud knock on my door scared me.

"Hey sis, can you help me with this dress? I can't get it on." My younger sister Emma asked.

"Yeah, is this a uniform?" I asked as I tied the ribbon in the back.

"Yeah, the school I am going to has uniforms. Do you like it?" She asked.

"Yeah," I said as she walked out my bedroom door.

Emma is my only sister in the family. She is 9 years old. My parents had 5 kids and I am the 3rd one. My brothers Justin and Zander are older than me and my brother Ethan and my Emma are younger which plants me right in the middle of the crazy family.

I walked downstairs and Ethan was already eating breakfast. 

"Hey, mom?" I asked.

"Yeah, sweetheart." She answered.

"What if I become the laughing stock of the school on my first day?" I asked. She turned around and looked at me.

"Then you do." She answered and then turned back around and continued making lunches. 

"That's helpful," I said. I looked at my plate in front of me. I really wasn't that hungry so I pushed the plate away.

"Not hungry Ava?" Asked my dad as he entered the kitchen, my mother still turned around making lunches.

"No, I think I am a little nervous for the first day," I said.

"Well, it will be fine. Everyone will love you." He said and kissed my forehead before he left for work.  

"Are you going to eat that?" asked Ethan.

"No," I said in a disgusting way. I walked back up to my room and made sure my stuff for school was all set and ready. I grabbed the car keys off my burrow and looked at the present again. I shouldn't open it now. I thought as I looked away from it. I walked back downstairs and said bye to my mother before I walked outside and got in my car and drove to school.
