I drove through the gates and parked near the rest of the cars by the door. Something in Kai's voice when he asked me to come over was undecipherable but I heard the hint of uneasiness. I don't know if it was from the situation that's come upon us or the threat I promised him.

Soldier and I walked up to the front door and I knocked a playful rhythm until someone opened the door. I rocked back and forth on my feet patiently before the door swung open and Kai's eyes landed on me.

"Princess," Kai formerly greeted as he stepped to the side to let me in.

"Finnels," I said in the same tone.

I stepped into the foyer with Soldier right beside me and I slowly wrapped my hands around Kai's waist and rested my chin on his chest. He smiled down at me and pecked my nose softly as he brushed my hair out of my face, "How was your day my beautiful girlfriend?" He whispered.

Hearing Kai's gentle voice put some ease on my body from the worrying I've been doing today. I was so freaked out about where he's been and why he hasn't come to school, and even more worried at how tired he seemed on the phone. Looking at him now, his hair looked like he had been running his hands through it all day. He was dressed in his usual attire but I could see that it was ruffled; but it didn't seem like the type of ruffle where you're exhausted. It seemed like the type of ruffled where you've been moving around too much in one day.

Now, the tables have turned. I was the one worrying about Kai.

I sighed deeply and closed my eyes as he started drawing circles on the small of my back, right above my ass, "It wasn't the same without you guys, but it was still okay," I whispered sweetly.

I felt him smile even wider which made me blush for some unknown reason. I released my chin from his chest and instead buried it in his shirt. I felt his body shake from his chuckle which only made me blush even more, "You're cute," he blurted out.

I rubbed my palms flat on his back and shook my head, "I'm your girlfriend."

He kissed the top of my head and released his hold on me, instantly making me wish he had never let go. He took my hand in his and led me towards the kitchen with Soldier in tow. I looked down at our intertwined hands and my smile dropped into a look of confusion as I saw Kai's bloody knuckles. I subconsciously dragged my thumb over them softly and he winced at the sting I had caused him.

I stopped in the middle of the hallway and looked up to Kai accusingly, "What happened Finnels?" I asked gently.

He had the look of an apology drawn all over his face and he pursed his lips together, "You'll find out soon, cmon," he said as he pulled his hand away and instead placed it on my back.

An uneasy feeling took over and I sensed something very wrong. Kai's knuckles were bloody, he decided to call the guys first instead of me when he knew I would leave school right away if he needed my help, and Kai looked troubled by something. I tried connecting the dots but what dots were there to connect when you don't have any information? Only theories?

I walked into the large kitchen and saw all of the guys talking in hushed whispers. Once my eyes landed on Williams my smile reached my lips once again and I skipped over to him cheerfully. I tapped his shoulder twice and he turned around with a hard expression at first but it dissolved once he saw my cheerful smile, "Hi pumpkin," he greeted.

I hugged him tightly and he rested his cheek on the top of my head, "Thank you for the gift," I said softly.

A 'thank you' was just a fraction of how grateful I was for the photo album. Every one of those photos meant more than he could ever imagine and I was thankful for that. The message he was trying to point out was as bright as a neon sign in the darkest room; It's what family is for.
