"We got different stars and stories."

In the serenade of darkness, the stars were in choir. It was pure black that made the moon glow beautifully. The sidewalks, under the tall standing street lamps at intervals, brightened up. Though it was a cold night, everything felt warm around. A city of wide avenues and small places to sit and eat, to relax as folks went about their day. There were sky towers in the centre, which were once thousands of homes now took up less ground space with a shopping mall. The rest were parks and wild spaces. Everything cloaked under the night sky and illuminated with city lights of Seoul.

It was the end year celebrations, the warm feeling of being with family despite the cold was blissful. But of course, there are always exceptions.

"I can not believe this!" Jimin's voice ringed the silent van as he jostled back and forth on his seat.

"Seriously, you're still on about that?" Taehyung who had his bleary eyes fixed on the black tinted window, scanned the street lights passing by as the vehicle drove in steady pace.

"Like, you're the one to talk? Honestly, people change with time.", the man in blonde blurted taut, crossing his arms against his chest firmly.

Taehyung turned back abruptly towards Jimin in utter devastation, his jaw dropping down to the floor and puffy eyes now gone wide.

"You didn't share hotteok with me when you ordered them last Sunday either. I didn't complain for two whole daysㅡ" The calm environment now turned to an eruption of incomplete sentences and accusations.

"Oh come on." A silvery voice clicked through the feud among the two - their eyes now fixed on the man with rumpled bed hair and baggy under eyes - his poised expression remained the same as he rummaged through his dust-colored over coat.

"It's almost midnight, and I'm almost dead inside," Hoseok continued, while applying a lip balm, "how do you guys even have the energy for petty fights right now?" he eyed both younger ones completely bewildered.

"He started it~" before Jimin could go further Taehyung teased slumping back comfortably on his seat, pulling out his phone with a puckish smile playing on his lips, ignoring Jimin's endless excuses filling up the atmosphere once again.

Upon reaching the destination, they were hurried to the dressing room with assigned stylists and dressers huddling to get them ready for the End-Year photoshoot. Since it was past midnight and they had a flight to catch in few hours, it was a complete chaos. They were too tired after entire packed day schedule and could barely smile for the camera through out the session, but they had to. It was their job to look perfect at anytime of the day, whenever the camera came up flashing before their faces, whether they wanted to or not.

Turn by turn members got off their schedules, leaving behind only the youngest member.

"Hyung!" Jeongguk cried swaying through the hallway which was piled up with props and some rusty old light stands, spotted Hoseok jibing out of the dressing room back into his casuals, visibly drained out of energy. He jogged towards the elder in excitement.

"Ah, Jeongguk!" Hoseok brightened up in response.

"You're leaving?" the younger man with dark-brown hair mumbled in glum.

"Ahaha you want me to stay back again?"

"Won't you?" Jeongguk pleaded sheepishly.

Hoseok fuddled as he reached up scratching his neck feeling uncertain about the stay.

"So?"

"Uh- alright, give me a call when you're done. I'll be waiting in here till then," the man in over-coat pointed at the door behind him.

The younger nodded in assurance.

Stepping back into the brightly lit room was certainly not what his tired self was looking for, but then again he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep back home anyway. His bones felt like they were ripped out, swollen to the core, the muscles felt sore and every inch of him was aching. His eyes skimmed out of focus for a second upon entering back into a place filled with people and voices.

Plopping on to the sofa placed neatly in the center of the room with ashy coffee table before it. He shut his eyes closed, trying to escape the throbbing pain throughout his bones.

He was frustrated for not being able to work as hard as he thought he should have been doing on his promised mixtape this year. Being not confident enough with his rap was not making it any easy either.

He needed something to move him, something that would make him rap his heart out, a passion he felt like was a missing piece instead - uneasiness took over him once again.

It hung over him like a burden, to not disappoint millions waiting for him to complete his promise. All these thoughts cramped up in him made it hard for him to breathe again. These little scrambled and messed up imagery throttled his enthusiasm to do any better than he was doing at the moment.

Hoseok flickered his eyes open.

Exhausting, he mused.

Pulling out his phone, he scrolled through numerous songs nonchalantly, too many known artists trending with top songs, which at the moment was not what he was looking or rather needed at all.

Huh?

His eyes fell onto a song, without any icon or singer's data and his lips read the title softly, crease formed between his brows with curiosity. Titling his head perplexed, his eyes implored and fixed at the name of the singer, the name didn't have anything unusual to it.
Yet he had a feeling of nostalgia that made him even more confused.

Odd, he breathed out.

The phone screen flashed with a call, ringing away his blue thoughts.
