"Attention athletes, the All Around Sports award show will start in approximately 10 minutes please start finding your seats and getting ready" The announcer says
Liana couldn't believe she was here, she was in awe. This was her first time ever being nominated for MVP as a pro volleyball player. She was surrounded by the best of the best in all sports. From basketball to baseball, they were all here.
She quickly made her way over to her table but stopped slightly before her table when she noticed another athlete was there already. She straightened out her dress, put on a smile and got ready to meet this person.
As she sat down the man turned around and smiled, "So we get to share a table this year?"
"Yeah, I guess so" Liana laughs, "I'm Liana Williams by the way"
"Nice to meet you Liana, I'm Christian Yelich" He then sticks out his hand for the girl to take and shake
"So, what're you nominated for?" Liana asks, trying to keep up the conversation with this rather cute athlete she's sitting with
"MVP" He answers, trying not to sound too cocky
"No way, me too" She laughs
"Really? That's so cool. What sport?" He asks
"Volleyball" She smiles
Christian smiled, volleyball? He thought, those were real athletes, throwing themselves all over the floor, into their bench and in the wall just to keep a ball in the air. Volleyball players are awesome.
"What about you, Mr. Yelich?" She laughs
"Baseball" Liana couldn't help but smile at what he said, baseball was her favorite sport to watch, the guys looked so good in those baseball pants
"How long does this thing usually take?" She asks, given it's her first show
"Way too long, I usually sneak out after whatever I'm nominated for is announced, you wanna get out of here after we get done?" He whispers
"I'd love to" She smiles

Finally the awards started, Liana and Christian we're still hitting it off and talking throughout the whole night, until it was their turn to be nominated.
"Let's get ready to cheer on our favorite players and some of the best in their respected sports" The person announcing says, "First we will start with women's volleyball"
Liana could now feel butterflies in her stomach and thought she could throw up, she was so nervous, Christian quickly noticed and put his hand on her knee, "You got this, don't worry"
"And the women's mvp goes to someone who had 39 ace serves, 42 digs, 28 solo blocks, 19 block assists, 32 setting assists, 56 kills and a world series win in women's volleyball" The announcer starts, "Congratulations, to Liana Williams"
Liana couldn't believe it, she stood up and hugged Christian who was next to her and everyone else at their table, who happened to be some of her teammates
