Ride With Me (It Was An Accident)

Accident Scene

Johnny Lawrence drove down the road slowly. Both his girlfriend Carmen, and his son were in the car. He wanted to set a good example for his son Robby. Robby just got his license . and he didn't want to the kid to think it was okay to speed. They were driving home after seeing Carmen's son Miguel. He was recovering slowly. He had a halo neck brace on. He was in good spirts though. He still joked around like he did before the incident during the school brawl. 

Miguel was the one who brought everybody together. He told Carmen and Johnny they belonged together. Miguel also forgave Robby. (Although he said when he got better, Robby better run because he was in for an ass whuppin.) Johnny was lost in thought and not paying enough attention to the surrounding roads. He only looked at the car in front of him. Not to the side of the road.

Carmen and Robby both screamed "Watch out!" Johnny swerved into the other lane. He couldn't believe his eyes.

Robby couldn't believe his eyes. He saw a man fall onto the highway then a motorcycle crashed down a few feet away. 

"Holy Shit!" Johnny pulled to the side of the road. Carmen was already on her phone calling 9-1-1.  Johnny got out of his car and ran towards the biker. He felt sick to his stomach. He rode motorcycles and hated to see a fellow biker injured.   Johnny had a gut feeling they guy was dead. 

He knelt down over the guy. Robby was right beside him. "Son, don't come any closer, you don't need to see this. I know it's bad." 

"Do you think he's dead?" Robby asked. Then he heard a muffled sound that sounded like human speech. "Holy shit, the guys alive and awake." 

Johnny had no idea what to do. He yelled "Carmen, help, he's alive!" Carmen would know what to do, she's a nurse." 

Carmen ran up yelling, "Don't move him. Don't remove the helmet. He could have a broken neck." 

She got to the accident scene. "The ambulance is on it's way. I think they might even call life flight helicopter." 

"We need to see if he has ID. IF we know who he is, we can find out his medical history." She reached into the guy's pants pocket and pulled out a wallet. She opened it and saw the license. She closed her eyes. "Johnny, I think you know him."

"Who is it." he asked as he grabbed the license. He read the name. "Oh my God, it's my old Sensei John Kreese" Johnny knelt down beside John Kreese. "Sensei, it will be all right. The helicopter on its way." He could hear the whipping of the blades. The helicopter started to land.

Johnny Lawrecne and John Kreese had a recent falling out. Kreese took Cobra Kai dojo away from Johnny. Johnny was angry with Kreese, but he still felt awful when he saw Kreese lying on the road motionless. John Kreeses body was twisted a funny angle. His top half and bottom half no longer matched up. Johnny could see bone sticking out of both arms and legs. He was so upset he vomited. Then he began to cry. The hurt of seeing a fellow biker injured and the fact that Johnny knew him made him sick.

Robby stood in shock over his father's reaction. He walked over and put a hand on his dad's shoulder. Johnny said. "He's now my enemy, but I wouldn't wish this on anybody.

Robby asked.  " What caused this? Was he going too fast? " 

"I doubt it. Kreese is a cautious man." Johnny said. " Or it might not be his fault at all. I've  ridden motorcycles before. Nobody gives motorcycles any respect. Car drivers treat  us like a nuisance. They don't beleive in sharing the road." 

Carmen walked up and put her arms around Johnny. "I see lots of motorcycle accidents in the ER and 9 times out of 10 a car driver caused it."

"I want to find out what happened. I'm sick of people getting away with shit like this. Did you notice nobody stopped except us? If somebody caused this, they did a hit and run." Johnny said. 

The Helicopter landed  and The EMT's from the Helicopter ran up. "Back up, please. Give us room to work.'"

Carmen and Johnny watched as the EMT's worked on John Kreese. Then they loaded him onto the Helicopter.  Johnny and Carmen drove to the County General Trauma  Hospital where Carmen worked.
