                                                              "After Shock"

I walked out of the school and met my friends by Austin’s truck. After we were all there we climbed in and Austin headed towards Callaghan’s. It was a little teenager club that we danced at. We weren’t a group. We each danced singular. Except for sometimes Austin would help me out with a routine that called for partners.

“So how did you like your partner,” Maggie asked as she leaned towards me.

“He was cute,” I said with a smile.

“Cute as in friendly or cute as in bangable,” she asked.

“A little bit of both,” I said after I thought about it for a minute.

“So was he cool,” she asked.

“He was shy,” I told her honestly.

“I’ve never known you to go for the shy type,” she said with a frown.

            “I don’t,” I said back with a shrug.

“Then why do you find him so interesting,” Austin asked.

“I don’t really know. He’s just cute and oddly endearing,” I said as I thought about the way his face had flamed earlier.

“So is he coming to your house for these projects,” Jamie asked with a sneer.

“Nope. He wants to do them at his house,” I said as we pulled into the driveway.

            “Smart boy,” Maggie said.

“He is smart. Apparently he’s a little bit of a nerd,” I said as I stepped out of the truck.

“He said that,” she asked amazed.

“Yeah,” I said with a frown.

“Maybe he was trying to turn you away,” Austin said with a grin.

“Your face bitch,” I said as I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Your face,” he said as he did the same thing.

“You two can be so immature,” Maggie said with a laugh.

“Don’t be jealous because we have more fun than you,” I joked.

“You wish you had as much fun as me,” she said.

“We know what kind of fun you have,” I said as I wiggled my eyes at her.

“Whatever,” she said as she laughed with me.

“We ready for some practice,” Austin said.

“Yes indeed,” I said as I pulled my shirt over my head. I had a blue undershirt on beneath it.
