Why break me?

Mac: "No! They- they will tell him..

David: " Tell whom? What is it?"

Mac: "They will tell that...to him... No..he shouldn't know...no.."

Dec: "Who? Philip? Whatever it is, tell us"

Mac: "No! You will also do that! I know you will not keep this a secret-"

Dec: "Malcolm! You must tell us or-"

Mac: " AntMcpartlin!!"

Dec's heart skips a beat at that

Dec: "Tell him what?"

Mac: "No! No..."

Dec: "Mac...tell him what?!" Dec grits his teeth, fury and worry creeping inside

Mac: "You will tell him...no..no"

Dec: "Mac! Tell. Him.What?!" Dec's tone turns grave and David puts a hand on his shoulder. But Dec shrugs it off. What about Ant?!

Mac: "Please don't ask me"

Dec: "Mac. What. About. Anth?!" If Andrew is planning anything against Ant, I will not leave him alone!

David: "Dec, you have to calm down!"

Dec: "It's Andrew we are talking about! You know what all he can do! What about Anth, Mac? Tell me what-"

Mac: "That I love him!!!"

Mac lets out a broken sob and then whispers this time "That I love him"

Dec's heart gives out for a moment inside his chest at that. And surprisingly the first emotion he felt for Mac was anger.

Dec: "You know he won't"

Mac nods at that "Of course I do!"

Dec sighs, keeping his emotions under control and slowly asks:

Dec: "So that was what you were talking to Andrew that day. That was the reason you didn't kiss me-"

Mac: "I hated you"

Dec felt stunned "You what?!"

Mac's looks at him angrily "I hated you! You are always close to him and he doesn't even notice me when with you!"

Dec felt fury seizing him but takes a deep breath and says "He is my friend!!"

Mac: "That's how it starts!"

Dec looks at him in disbelief but then Mac says "I am sorry. I know I mustn't think so but - but-"

Dec stops him by placing a hand on his shoulder and nodding.

Dec: "We should get you checked, come on"

It took a long time for them to come out of the nurse's room. Mac's parents were called and Dec has left him promising him that he will never tell this to Ant. However, Dec had no doubt whatsoever that the news will reach others sooner than later. He didn't know why he felt too much rage at Mac when he revealed his love for Ant. He knows Mac is not like Andrew and will never be. But still, something erupted inside Dec when   Mac confessed. And Dec didn't know what to think anymore about that.

He was immersed in his thoughts when he heard voices all around. Students were running out of the cafeteria to the courtyard, probably to watch some fight that has broken out. David was about to follow them when Dec stopped him.
