"no, I have a lot of homework" she says, and she hears Charlie snort from next to her and it brings a smile to her face she made him laugh.

"ok well I'll leave you alone to get your stuff done, don't suffer too much see ya" then Jackson runs back to his friends and they play basketball on the courts next to their table.

"ok so as I was saying-" Charlie is cut off by a loud laugh and he sighs knowing that they could never get anything done as long as her boyfriend is near. Keeping a close eye on the pair, no matter how many times she explained that there was nothing to worry about, he still brought the issue up. She hated the double standard, as he was constantly flirting with other girls at their school, claiming that it was just his personality type.

Macy had begun dating Jackson at the beginning of the school year, it'd only been six months. At first she was completely enamored by him. Jackson seemed like the perfect boyfriend, and on paper he was. She knew that she should be excited to see the boy she was supposed to be in love with at the park, however his presence made her mood drop considerably. Lately, she had no tolerance for him. All Jackson wanted to do was party, besides that he was constantly busy with practice, therefore she rarely saw him outside of school.

Macy didn't mind going to parties, it was something they did most weekends, however she hated how stupid her boyfriend would act when he drank. Jackson would take shot after shot of straight liquor to impress his friends and eventually, he would get violent. Picking a fight with someone in the house. She was horrified at his behavior each time, and had tried to talk to him about it, but he refused to take responsibility. He would complain that she only ever wanted to start fights with him. She absolutely could not stand being around him for more than a few minutes these days. Each second she had to pretend she loved him felt like a drain on her soul.

As she glances over at Jackson joking with his friends she wonders why she even bothered to stay with him. At this point, it didn't even feel like a relationship. She saw Charlie much more than she did Jackson. She turns back to Charlie and stares at his concentrated face, as he attempts to edit her paper. The wind blowing gently through the curls, and allowing her to get another whiff of his god tier colgone. Her stomach drops and her heart begins to pound. She clasps her hands together as she begins to sweat. She'd always thought Charlie was attractive, but now her perspective seemed to change entirely. She was curious, she needed to know who he was.

"I know a place that will be quiet" Macy says standing and putting her stuff away

"you want to leave?" he asks

"I can't stand to be around them" she admits.

Charlie nods in surprise and grabs his keys. He leads her to his car and she sits down, buckling her seat belt.

"so what is this place?" he asks as he pulls out of the parking lot.

"its somewhere I go when I want to think" she says

Macy directs him to her spot at the lake, driving ten minutes down the road as music plays gently in the background. The pair exchange glances a few times as they make their way to the destination. Macy tells him to pull onto a dirt road and instructs him to park the car. They get out and she grabs her bag, shutting the door as she walks towards the path leading into the trees.

"where are we going?"

"you'll see" she says as he follows her silently. After a short walks, they come out of the trees and to a pond. Macy walks over and sits down on the big rock by the shore and Charlie follows her taking a seat next to her and looking out over the beautiful calm Lake.
