Macy walks into class with a feeling of dread as she had no interest in studying with Charlie. There were millions of things she'd rather do after school than hang out with him. She finds her seat and turns to face him, causing the boy to look up at her from his notebook in confusion and annoyance.  He raises his eyebrows waiting for her to speak.

" Charlie Eaton how are doing today? ready for this pre-test?" she says giving him a small smile, his expression doesn't change as she had hoped and he shakes his head and looks away from her. He looked good, she couldn't deny it, even despite the sour look on his face. If he wasn't such an asshole he would have done very well with girls.

"look Grey I don't know what you're on today, but do me a favor - don't talk to me" he says crossing his arms and turning his attention to the front of the class. She sits in disbelief, this boy is the most difficult and confusing person in the world, but she knows that she can't give up yet. There is more to him and she wants to figure it out. She huffs in annoyance.

"listen- my brother is having all of his annoying friends over after school so maybe we could go to your house instead for tutoring" she suggests, he gives a panicked look but covers it quickly

" how about the park down the street"

    "ok" she shrugs.

Macy faces forward once more, she attempts to focus on the lesson but Charlie's odd reaction stuck out to her. What was so bad about his house? something was wrong but she knew she couldn't press him about it, not now at least.

After another boring day of school, the girl bids Jackson and Jordan goodbye before heading down the street to the park where Charlie wanted to meet at. When she arrives at the park she spots him and walks over, he has a book in hand and she smiles as she sits down across from him. She gets out her stuff not saying anything just in case he was still in a bad mood from earlier, she didn't want to push him.

"Chem or Math today?" he asks

"actually English I wrote my essay but I feel like I'm not explaining the topic very well"

"ok let me take a look" he takes the essay and reads over it and they sit in silence for a couple of minutes. She notices Jackson and a bunch of his friends arrive at the park. She turns her head, trying to block herself from their view. The last thing she wanted was for Jackson to see how much help she needed. Charlie puts down the essay and moves over next to her.

"ok so it's good but this sentence here could be worded better" he says highlighting it, she tries to focus on his words but all she can think about is how close he is right now. His long fingers and veiny hands captured her. She had never been this close to him before. The smell of his cologne was intoxicating. He smelled like tobacco and vanilla. She shakes the thought out of her head and tries to pay attention.

"also here I understand what you're saying but you're contradicting yourself-" he is cut off by a loud scream that she knows well, they've been spotted.

"hey babe what are you doing here?" Jackson says kissing her cheek and glaring at the boy, the girl elbows him and stares up at him feeling annoyed by his presence

"Charlie is tutoring me like every Friday"

"oh fun, well you going to the party tonight?"
