An Exchange (Sander Sides, Analogical)

Its Virgil's first day at Westerberg High. He joined an exchange student program and got paired with a guy named Patton. Patton's nice, the two seem to get along well. He can talk a lot but other then that he's fun to be around. They just got back from Paris, France Virgil's home. He's really excited but there is one problem. Virgil is going to an English school barely knowing how to speak English. He didn't realize this problem before since Patton was going to his home first and he knew French well enough to get by. Now while walking to the school office he's realizing his mistake of not asking for help in English while Patton was in France with him. Virgil stopped Patton halfway through his phrase. Patton, nous avons un problem (Patton, we have a problem) Whispered Virgil. Patton, slightly confused, tilted his head and gave Virgil a questioning look. Cest quoi?(What is it?).

Mon anglais nest pas bon. Je connais seulement quelque mot(My English is not good. I only know a few words) Patton's face got a look of understanding. Ohhh, c'est correct. Je peux traduire pour toi et t'enseigner l'anglais a la maison.(Ohh, its okay. I can translate for you and teach you English at home.)

D'accord, merci(Okay, Thank you)

They walk into the office and Patton introduces Virgil to the staff to get his schedule and locker combination. While walking to find his locker Patton starts teaching Virgil the basics like how to ask for directions and for help. Really anything that could help him at school.

Its week four and Virgil has learned a lot more English. He can now hold almost a full conversation with Patton and ask questions in class without stuttering. When he got frustrated or if he was tired he could break into french. He hasnt yet revealed that he didnt know English very well he just didnt talk often. People though he was mute but Patton just told them that he was shy. The only other person who knew that he didnt know English was Pattons boyfriend Roman. Virgil was doing pretty well with keeping his secret until one day in English class. Today they were working on reading Romeo and Juliet so Virgil was even more confused than normal. Eventually he got so confused that he had to ask a question and couldnt form it in English. He waited for the class to be allowed to ask questions. When the teacher finally called on him he accidentally asked his question in french. Pourquoi Juliet a décidé de lui marié après une journée. Est telle stupide ou quoi?(Why did Juliet decide to marry him after one day? Is she stupid or what?). Once he saw the confused look on his teachers face he realized he spoke in french but to his surprise it wasnt Patton that responded. "Car elle croit quelle est en amour. Meme si elle nest pas. Ces just ses hormone qui la dit quelle laime.(Because she thinks shes in love, even if she isnt. Its just her hormones telling her that she like him.) Looking around Virgil saw who responded to his question. It was a man in a black button up and dark blue tie. He had black framed glass and jeans with dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. The man smiled at Virgil before turning his attention back to the teacher. Once class was over Virgil was still thinking about the man until he walked into him. Bonjour, je me nomme Logan. Toi?(Hi, my name is Logan. You?)

Virgil He responded And I know a limited amount of English. Patton isnt doing well teaching me.

Then maybe I can help Virgil nodded and Logan passed him a slip of paper. Text me and we can make plans Virgil nodded again and thought for a second. Thank you? Is that right?

Yes it is, good job. Ill see you later. Said Logan

With that Logan walked off. As soon as Virgil got to his next (and favorite) class, French, he texted the number.

V: Just testing

L:Why?

V:Umm I testing to see if it work

L:Im* testing to see if it works* but it seems to work fine

V:Yeah I will talk to you later. Bye

L:Bye

I'm open to any suggestion and correction for all of my story's. I need to give credit where credit is due. Thanks to my friend (who shall remain unnamed) for thinking of the idea that I 100% butchered. (This was on a document for the two of us I swear)
