Freefall (Kakashi HatakeXOC Part1)

Good News

It's been about six or seven months since Kakashi and I started trying for a baby, and there's still no luck. It's really kind of bumming me out, Amaya told me that I shouldn't get so down about it. She also said that it'll happen in time, I've just got to wait. And so I have. For a few months now.

"Kakashi, what are we going to do today?" I question as my silver haired partner sits next to me on the couch. Currently, I was lying upside down with my upper half on the floor, and my lower half up over the couch.

"I don't know, I suppose we could just relax here all day. Or if you want, we could go out somewhere. I'll do whatever you want," he replies, I noticed that the usual bored tone to his voice wasn't there like it normally was. Which I found odd, instead, there was a hint of something else. I'm not sure what though, it kind of felt like he knew something that I didn't. But I wouldn't press on about it, whatever it was, was his business.

"Well, I'm kind of in the mood to just walk around. I know your lazy butt likes to sit around, so it would only be a short walk."

Kakashi never really was one for showing his affection in public, and I kind of understood why. He wanted to maintain that mysterious, yet strong attitude that hangs around him. He'll be caring and loving in our apartment, but it's strictly business between us if we go anywhere; even if it is just a walk.

We had ended up strolling to Ichiraku, and since we were there; stopped in for some ramen. Well, I was having ramen, and Kakashi was seated to my right. As Teuchi sets the steaming bowl of ramen in front of me, I can't help but smile as I say,

"Thank you, it looks delicious."

Teuchi grins, and replies,

"You're welcome, Keira. This ones' on the house, consider it a gift."

He went back to preparing more ramen and I grabbed a pair of chopsticks from the cup in front of me, and broke them apart. Right as I was about to dig in, a familiar blonde comes into the small shop and sits to my left. I looked over to him, and Naruto greets me with,

"Hey Keira-Sensei! Kakashi-Sensei!"

"Hello, Naruto. It's not much of a surprise to see you here anymore," I reply and pick up some of my ramen on the chopsticks.

The blonde leans closer to me and stares at me for a moment, and it was really making me feel uncomfortable. I set my chopsticks in my bowl with a sigh and ask,

"Why are you staring at me, Naruto?"

He tilts his head to the side slightly and replies,

"There's something...different about you, I just don't know what yet."

"Come on, Naruto. Quit staring," Kakashi says from my right,

"It's rude."

The blonde shakes his head, and states loudly,

"I was just tryin' to figure out what's different about Keira-Sensei."

I yawn as I sit next to Kakashi on the couch, after eating that ramen earlier, my stomach had started to feel uneasy. I'm not sure why, it might be because that was the only thing I really ate today. If I told Kakashi that, he'd be scolding me for not eating; and I'm not in the mood to be scolded right now. I've noticed he's been trying to take better care of me lately, he's trying to get me to start eating healthier and get outside more; even though I already go out for hours at a time everyday.

Kakashi glances over from the book he was reading as he asks,

"Are you still feeling sick?"

I nodded and reply,

"Yeah, but it's not as bad as earlier."

He hums and goes back to reading his book, it was then there was a rather loud knock at the door. Kakashi was about to get up, but I stopped him and got up myself while saying,

"I'll get it."

He continues reading as I head over to the front door, upon opening it, confusion washed over me. It was Amaya, she was panting slightly as if she had just been running, and her hair was messy. A confused expression found it's way to my face as I ask,

"What are you doing here, Amaya?"

"I have something to tell you, and it's important," she starts off,

"It couldn't wait until you came back to the hospital again either."

She pauses to catch her breath, a wide smile graces her features as she continues,

"Keira, you're pregnant."
