A Fragment In Time

Sara was dead and Ava grieved in her own way that shocked everyone as she would come to work in a hoodie and would just sit moping in her office listening to The Indigo Girls, but what baffled people the most was when she dyed her hair jet black. The Legends would stop by and try to cheer her up, but they didn't understand, they couldn't understand, Sara was love her life and now she was dead.

"You should really turn on some lights in here, mate." Charlie tells Ava one day. Charlie was a shapeshifter that recently joined the Legends. She was a pain in the ass at first but in time she became a reliable member of the team even if she turned out with her own odd ball personality.

"And while you're at it, play some better bloody music."

"We all can't like The Sex Pistols, can we?" Ava says, taking a jab at Charlie's favorite punk rock group.

"It's better than that blimey mess you're playing," Charlie reply, return the jab in true Charlie fashion. "Who is that anyway?"

"The Indigo Girls."

"Them again, mate, if I knew you were going to play that bloody music I would have stayed on the Waverider."

Ava didn't respond as Charlie unpacked a Picnic basket and sat some sandwiches and chips on Ava's desk, followed by a
two-liter bottle of soda and two red Solo cups.

"I hope you brought some ice this time." Ava said recalling last time when Charlie forgot the ice and had to go to the conference room and raid the fridge for some ice cubes.

"Next time I'm sending Mick here to check on you, the mate needs a break from writing those bloody novels." Charlie said teasing Ava as  she poured her and Ava some soda into the plastic cups and says, "I forgot the ice again so I'll be raiding the icebox again."

And Charlie turns to walk away, but Ava catches her by the wrist before she can go anywhere.

"Or on second thought, I like my soad hot anyway."

"I want you to help me with something." Ava said.

"And what's that, mate?"

"Shapeshift into Sara."

Charlie didn't like where this was going, it's true that she would do anything for Ava, but this was a bit of a stretch.

"I don't think that's a wise idea, love." Charlie said trying to talk Ava out of something she was going to regret later.

"And why not?" Ava asked jumping up from her chair causing it to tumble over in the process.

"Because you might do something that you might be sorry for later."

"We're worry about that later, now, change into my girlfriend or so help me God, I'll..." Ava said but was cut off by Charlie throwing up her hand and saying, "alright, alright, don't get your knickers tied up."

And Charlie morphs into Sara. Ava walks over to Charlie/Sara and at that moment, Ava was feeling happy, sad and angry all at once. Then she does something that surprises her and the shapeshifter that turned into Sara, she slaps her.

"What the hell?" Charlie says as Sara.

"How dare you die and leave me all by myself?" Ava asked, "you always have to be reckless, well now your recklessness got you killed.

"Are done now, mate?" Charlie/Sara asked. It was odd to hear Sara say mate and for a moment, Ava was snapped back into reality, but she had to get this off her chest before she was going to be mopping for the rest of her life. Honestly, she had been wanting to do this for a while now but she was worried that she would jump the shapeshifter when she transformed into Sara and that's what stopped her form approaching this sceme, but now that everything was happening, she feels that she has crossed another line that she thought she wouldn't cross. She was blaming Sara for dying. It wasn't Sara's fault, because she was murder, but Sara did decide to go after a magical creature that caused her death.

A meow pulled Ava from herthoughts as a cat walks over to Ava. She truns around and picks up the cat as Charlie transform back into herself and goes over to Ava.

"Z, I told you to wait for me outside." Charlie said. The cat meow's in response and then Ava says, "this cat is Zari?" While petting the cat and was rewarded by the cat purring in response.

"Yeah, it is."

"What happened?"

"That's what I came here to talk to you about."

"Well, don't keep me in suspense."

"It's hard to explain."

"Try."

"Ok," Charlie says with a pause and then continues, "Zari is turn into a cat because Constantine broke time and that's why Sara is dead.

Charlie was waiting for Ava to say something, but she just stood there, froze in disbelief.
