Chapter 3: Notice boards

I woke up with the light of the early morning sun stabbing through the window curtains and into my smooth, complexed face. I blinked a few times to gain back my vision from slumber as I climbed out of bed. I used my ancient magic to change my clothes back from my nightwear to my adventuring clothes from yesterday. I checked to see that I had all my silver coins. 274 accounted for. I took a peak into my orb inventory to see my supplies. All still there and all still preserved thanks to my orb inventories unique magical properties. With everything sorted out I grabbed my cloak from my peg and swung it over me, letting my hood stay down for now. I grabbed the key from the desk drawer and unlocked the door of my room to enter the cold, barren corridor. I locked the door behind me and went downstairs to grab some breakfast and hopefully meet Raphtalia again

As fate would have it she was already down there with Filo and Naofumi, awaiting on their own breakfast. I waved at them as I went past to order my own food. I pondered over the menu for a solid minute, much to the annoyance of the bartender,I guessed. I decided on ordering 2 bacon sandwiches for myself along with sausages on the side, with a cup of coffee as well. I sat down next to Filo awaiting for my order. I saw how close Naofumi and Raphtalia was and, I will admit, I was a bit jealous, especially considering he was her master and they probably had a relationship going on anyways. ("Wait a minute. If Naofumi and Raphtalia are a couple then that means....Filo is....oh god") a little piece of my heart was crushed at the thought of these 2 married with a child already ("this is why you never let your hopes up you idiot. Dreams are meant to be crushed, not become real")

As I was beating myself up over my idiocy the food ordered by Raphtalia, Filo and Naofumi arrived. The waitress told me that my food will be ready shortly. There was a huge feast set upon the table, with a blend of aromas assaulting my nostrils all at once. There were bowls of rice, slabs of juicy steaks and sausages alongside meaty bacon burgers and cups of ale (and water for Filo). The 4 of us all stared in absolute awe at the sight of the feast. There were just too many different salivating dishes to describe.
"Ummm...master Naofumi what did you order?" Asked raphtalia
"The breakfast buffet for 3..." he replied in a somewhat overwhelmed tone
"Jesus Naofumi. I know you and Filo are a bit on the skinnier side but I don't think you need to be Buddha level big"
"Hey shuddup, look who's talking"
"The guy who doesn't order fucking steaks for breakfast you madman"
As almost on cue my order then came for myself to tuck into. 3 giant brick sized bacon sandwiches and a huge mug of coffee to go along with it. I felt my stomach almost pounce out of my belly from the sound of its savage road. I didn't even care for the glances of the other 3 as I dug onto my meal, ripping apart the tender, juicy pieces of bacon in between soft and salty slices of bread. After every sandwich I gulped down a third of my coffee until the last drop was poured onto my tongue. I slammed my mug down with a large burp, apologising to my nearby victims of the sound, yet thankfully, miraculously, no smell. The trio on my table looked stuffed, with raphtalia barely being able to move and Naofumi and Filo just about getting another bite of sausage into them before simultaneously dropping to the ground. I chuckled and got up to pay for the food, including theirs as a small gesture of kindness. I got back and raphtalia sat herself upright and drank a small cup of water
"So...(Yn)... we have a question for you"
I give her a gentle smile "fire away"
"Well umm... the three of us were talking about this yesterday, and we all decided that if you wanted to, you could join our party"
"Oh my...that's quite the generous offer of you raphtalia"
"Well, since your technically new to this world and your not a one of the 4 heroes and that we seem to get along pretty well, it seemed only natural to invite you into our party"
"Well, I graciously accept your generous offer m'lady" I say giving a small jokey bow and tipping a fake hat. I heard a small giggle come from her direction. I exchange a warm smile back at her. She gets up from her seat whilst checking her pouch
"Where are you going?"
"Oh I'm just going to pay for our food"
"Oh don't worry about it, I've already payed"
"You did? Why?"
"I...just wanted to do something nice for all of you considering the amazing hospitality you've all shown me"
"Well, thank you ever so much!" Raphtalia says beaming at me. I blush and look away for a second before re-averting my gaze back at raphtalia's gorgeous pink eyes. We chat for a little while longer as Naofumi and Filo recover from the buffet
