"I...I'm so s-s-s-sorry Madame" She giggled at my nervousness. It was such a sweet and innocent giggle "it's fine. Don't worry about it. I've got a tendency to accidentally run into people" "Nonono, it's my fault. I should've looked where I was going. Truth is, Miss, I'm looking for a place to stay for the night and get some food but I've no luck" Her face seemed to brighten as if she were a child figuring out a tough problem "actually, there is an inn I'm staying at with my friend and master around the corner if you would like to come" "Yeah I would love to-" before I could finish she grabbed my hand and pulled me off towards where she was staying ("This girl is holding my hand wtf?!!") I gently let go but keep the same distance as her. We talk as she leads me to the inn "So what's the deal with your 'master'?" "Oh well you see I was a slave girl before master naofumi bought me and trained me to be his knight" "Why did he get a slave instead of hiring a mercenary?" "Well the shield hero is not thought of too highly after princess Myne falsely accused him of rap" "Wait....your master is the shield hero...and was betrayed and said to be a villain when he's not?" "Yes exactly! He's really nice to both me and my friend filo" "He hasn't like...done anything bad to you right?" "No, what do you mean?" "Oh...nothing" I grab my bag of coins and count how many I have left "275" I mumble "Sorry?" Said the angelic voice next to me "Oh uh sorry i was just mumbling how many coins I have left" "And how many do you have?" "275 silver. Will that be enough for the night?" She giggled in astonishment "that'll be enough for 275 nights" "Oh wow, quite the bargain" I then notice her tail wagging ever so slightly, and her ears perked up a bit "Sorry, I've forgotten to ask. What's your name miss?" "Oh I'm raphtalia! It's been so nice to meet you by the way" she says sticking her hand out. I hesitantly take it and give it a slight but firm shake "Raphtalia....that's a very beautiful and befitting name for you" raphtalia blushes at my words as I look away at my sudden urge of smoothness "T-thank you" she whispers "I'm (Yn) by the way" I say looking at her again "(Yn)...that's a very nice name" "Thank ya ma'am" I say tipping my hood to her She giggles at my silliness "your funny"
We walked up to a large building filled with signs, posters and notice boards on the outside and in the inside it wasn't much neater. Shouts of orders of food and drink and drunken singing filled the establishment. There were bartenders and maids rushing everywhere with hot plates of food and filled cups of alcohol. At the back corner there sat two polar opposite people. One was grim faced with a large green cloak over his body with black messy hair. He seemed to carry a shield on his right arm and was drinking deeply from what I could only assume was a tankard of ale. Sat opposite to him was a blonde girl of a very young age. She was eating this small platter of meat when she saw the two of us. She waved excitedly and ran up to her. She pounced and hugged her tightly "Yay! You back" "I wasn't gone long" "Yeah well I mean you could've gone missing or something and that scared me" Raphtalia patted the girl on the head. From her appearance she seemed to be Filo, which meant Naofumi, the shield hero, was in that corner. "Could I sit with you guys by any chance?" I asked raphtalia She gave me a bright smile "of course!" I thanked her and headed over to the bar to order some food and drink
(1 hour later)
After the introductions were had I told them a little bit about myself. About how I was put into that prison and fought for my life every single day. About my weapons and armour. About rosmarinus. About home. About how my life is much better despite what happened. Filo all looked heartbroken to hear my story, and even Naofumi had some compassion. Raphtalia, however, looked the most sympathetic of all. She even took my hand when going through particularly emotional points. Afterwards I told them about he Kings request, but now seeing them made me realise he was full of shit. They told me about their perspective which only boosted my confidence in my reasoning. They all seemed overjoyed to hear and we continued to talk about their adventures together
The food that I had ordered finally came. I finely grilled meat platter with everything from steak to sausage. It came with 2 large cups of honeybrew mead to wash it down. "Wow..you get quite a lot for 1 silver here. This and a bed for the night" "Yeah, it's a very reasonable price, perfect for adventures which I'm guessing is it's target demographic" said naofumi After much enjoyment, my meal was devoured in what seemed too short for such a large platter. I continued talking with Raphtalia's party until Filo slammed her head against the table. She had fallen asleep. The rest of us laughed at her expense and we decided it would be best to head off to bed. Naofumi picked up Filo as me and Raphtalia continued to talk on our way up our rooms. She was in the second floor while I was in the third. At the foot of the 3rd set of stairs I waved goodbye to Naofumi and Filo and personally waved off Raphtalia I made my way to my room and turned the key for the door. I locked it behind me and placed down my bag of money and took off my shoes. I placed my cloak on the peg and admired it for a moment

"Good hyrulian make" I Said to myself out loud I used my arm gauntlet to recall rosmarinus and the metal wiring/plating around me while I used my magic to morph my clothes into some light bedwear. I moved over to my bed and wrapped myself up before blowing out my lit candle, closing my eyes to prepare myself for tomorrow's struggle
(Authors notes) Yes yes I know I know this wasn't what i said I would be doing but I've just got so many ideas for this book and I love the shield hero anime and Raphtalia's character. But don't worry, still going to do my neko book until the end and I will simultaneously do this one as well. Expect from now on one long chapter per book each week I hope you all enjoyed, till next time
