Your story has to be realistic, even if it's just in the slightest way.
Like I've said before, your readers need to connect with your characters and if they cant they will most likely just move on to the next book and never even think about yours again. (harsh, I know but it's true🤷)
So make the story a tad realistic, make your readers feel like they can relate to your character/s in some type of way, whether that's their style, their food choices, who their friends with, what they think is right and wrong, it doesn't matter just as long as you try your hardest to make your readers feel like they can relate with your character/s, then you'll have a bunch of happy readers.
