Sam walked into your room and spotted you curled up against the headboard of your bed, silent tears falling down your face. He ran over to you and scooped you up in one of his signature bear hugs, holding you close. It felt wonderful to be held in his arms, as if you were protected from the whole world.

"What's wrong?" He asked, trailing his fingers through your hair. You silently shook your head. "Please, tell me what's bothering you."
"Alright." You sat beside Sam one the edge of the bed, wiping your eyes.

"Sometimes this life just gets to be too much for me." You told Sam. "The monsters, the things we go through, the death... I don't know if I can keep going on like this." The younger Winchester had become your confidant, the one person you could completely trust. Sure, Dean was a pretty decent man, but he just didn't understand you the way Sam did.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. We do this because it makes a difference. We save people, and if that's not worth the pain, then I don't know what is." You leaned against his shoulder and held onto his arm as if you were a  shy little kid.
"I know. Thanks for listening to me rant all the time. You probably hate it."
"Of course not! I love knowing that you trust me so much. It's not exactly the nicest thing to feel alone in life." Sam kissed your forehead then smiled. "Come on. Dean's making BLT's, your favourite." You followed him out of the room, glad to get that weight off your shoulders.
