Eden Spencer Cortez, 16 year old genius, has been working on a window to view the future. He was curious about the fate of the world due to climate change. He was in his lab, one under his house in Henderson, Nevada. It was dark, and the only light on was a desk lamp at his metal table where he was working. They said if the world doesn't change its ways by 2030, if humanity stays this way, they'd reach the point of no return. And the year was 2030. Eden knew there was still time, still hope, maybe there's one part of the chain that hasn't happened to trigger to point of no return. But while making his window he accidentally created a portal to any time in any place in any world.

His brown eyes widen as he looks in awe at the portal in front of him. His pink lips pull apart and he runs his fingers through his black hair, screaming, "Guys... I think I did something!" His two friends run in, from another room in the lab.

"What is that?" his younger friend, Eros, asks. Eros is 14, brown, short, straight hair, and hazel eyes.

"I think I just opened a portal..." Eden trails off.

"A portal? A portal to where?" Eros' older sister, Lyric, asks.

Eden plays with the settings on the little cube that opened the portal, going through different times, different places. A blue, swirly portal was coming up from the cube. The portal looked as if it was a vacuum.

"Anywhere," was the only thing to come out of his mouth. "What do you mean?" Eros looks at the cube.

Eden shows Eros and Lyric the different settings, and says, "We can use this to look into the future, see our future firsthand, see what we can do differently. There's so much we can do!"

"Lets go to the future, see what climate change will do to our planet," Lyric suggests.

Her brother and friend agree, and Eden plays with the settings on the metallic cube. He sets it to the year 2055, and it opens a portal.

"Are you guys ready?" Eden asks. Lyric takes his hand and Eros' and nods with a smile. "Eros, are you ready?" Eden asks again, wanting to confirm. Eros gives a small nod, and they step though the portal together.
As they step into the future, they all, the portal spitting them out, and the landing was rough.

"Ah shit!" Eden holds the broken cube in his hand. "We got to go around and find stuff to fix this, or else we'll be stuck here."

"Get stuck here? I don't even know what here is! Where are we?" Eros panics.

Eden takes a look at the place around him. It was his lab, but everything was broken, shattered, lights off, minus an emergency red light. They run outside and stop in their tracks. The streets are deserted, plants are dead, and a red sun was bearing down on them. Bodies scattered on the floor, windows shattered, walls graffitied, as if the world went insane just before the climate killed them. The world was like a battlefield full of bodies, except the battle they lost was with themselves.
"We're in the future, this is our home in the future." Eros and Lyric look at Eden with horror.

"We got to hurry and go back, find a way to save the world," Eden explains.
So they start heading down the street. Streetlights had fallen over, abandoned cars everywhere. They stumble upon a school.

"Let's go inside," Eros suggests. "We can maybe find some information, or something, right?"

"But what about a house, there's probably some food or something for survival. We need to get resources," Lyric suggests.

[Who will Eden agree with? Lyric(1a) or Eros(1b)?]
