i had a dream that you still loved me
that you never threw me away and that you actually cared about me
i had a dream that you took me places and showed me off to the world
that you told your friends about me
that you held my hand in public
i had a dream that what we had never became abusive
that you never would call me drunk and tell me all the things you hated about me
that you never slept with her
that you never made me cry
i had a dream you didn't resent me for loving you too much
that you never told me that you were bad for me, because you weren't
that you didn't wind me up into a crazy obsessive monster
that you didn't treat me like shit
that you did everything right
that you never hurt me
so yeah, i had a fucking dream
but that's all it was.
a stupid dream
even in my subconscious you're always with me
and i'm done fighting with someone who i have never even really known.
