When You Are With Me

Dec: "But I can look after myself Anth! You don't have to follow my paths like a hawk!"

Ant: "If I haven't, Andrew would have already done to you what he wanted to! And I would be here watching you fall apart in front of me and hating myself for that! I was looking out for you Declan! Can't you get that into you yet?!"

Dec: "I don't want you to look out for me!!!"

Ant: "And I don't want you to take your own life because you fucking can't cope up!"

Ant stopped shot in shock and terror and Dec's eyes widened. That was the last thing he had expected to hear and the last thing Ant has expected he would say.

Ant: "Dec..."

Dec just takes a deep breath and closes his eyes "Fuck off Anth!"

He walks out of the room and Ant swears under his breath. It just came out and Ant hated himself for saying it. It was a hard blow on Dec and Ant knew he has crossed the mark now! He sighs again and walks to the roof knowing Dec will be there.

It was already becoming dark and Ant saw Dec sitting on the floor, leaning on to one of the concrete poles on the roof. He stiffens as Ant sits near him

Ant: "I am sorry"

Dec: "Hell, you are"

Ant: "Dec-"

Dec: "I shouldn't have told you...you shouldn't have known!"

Ant: "Dec, I...I was just looking out for you. I don't care what he did to me Dec and you know that. It's just...after...after what happened at that party and finding you inside that cupboard..."

Dec: "It wasn't Andrew"

Ant: "It was"

Dec's eyes snap to Ant's : "Anth?"

Ant sighs "I know them. Piers won't be able to devise such a plan. He is just muscles and no brain. Jeremy is more words than action. And Dan is just a bad mouthed oaf. But Andrew...he is the real brain behind everything they do. Piers is just a bully but Andrew is evil, Declan. And seeing that very guy with you sends chill down my spine. If something happens to you, I won't forgive myself"

Dec gapes at that, not knowing how to respond to this revelation.

Ant: "I am sorry I used...I used that during our argument. I didn't want it to come out like that. I trust you when you say you can cope up and I have seen how strong you are. But...Andrew can destroy you Dec, more emotionally than physically. He won't stop at anything to see the people he hate get hurt; to get what he want. I can't let him have you. I won't"

Dec sighs "He seems different.."

Ant: "I don't trust him...you know how I am with people. My guts tell me he is up to something"

Dec nods "Do you trust me?"

Ant looks at Dec incredulously "I do"

Dec: "Then please don't keep anything away from me. Until we are open and honest to each other, nobody can come between us. And nobody can hurt us"

Ant nods at that

Dec: "I am sorry"

Ant frowns "Why?"
