Rhiley's POV
The next day
Today is the day when all of the freshmen go to the club sign up festival. I want to try and make SOME friends so thaf my parents will quit begging me so I decided to see what clubs are available. The festival was based on a road and it had a ton of little tents with tables that two or three older students sat behind. Some of them had big colorful banners across the top reading things like " Glee Club" or "Recreational Quidditch". I would join the ladder, but the last time I did any physical activity... bad things happened.
I saw one tent that said " Photo Editing and photoshop". That one sounded right up my alley so I walked up. Standing behind the table were two girls. One of them had a vibe that was almost too similar to Alana Beck from Dear Evan Hansen. My hands started to get sweaty. The other girl looked like really didn't want to be there. She had short, black, and red hair cover slightly by a maroon colored beanie. She looked kind of like me if I was a woman. She looked like she hadn't slept in months too. She was doing something on her phone.
"Hi! Would you like to sign up for the Editing Skills Club? My name is Shelby Bright. This is my best friend Tyler." the Alana-like one said.
Tyler looked up for a second, then realized it was just another kid wanting to sign up so went straight back to her phone. She may have mumbles 'sup' but I'm not positive so I just smiled slightly and decided that was good enough.
"Uh...yeah. I think I wanna sign up. Sooo... is this just like teaching us how to photoshop or something?" DUH yeah it is, stupid.
"Yep! You will learn how to blend seperate layers, recolor, cut scenes, and if you sign up for the intermediate classes, you will learn how to code your own art program and even how to make your own sound effects and how to use a professional grade camara." She said WAY to happily.
"Oh,cool. Where do I sign my name?" Hmm. I don't know, Rhiley. Probably on the sheet with other names on it right in front of you. "oh," I say.
I signed the sheet and kept walking down the street. I signed up for two other clubs. One of them was a LGBTQ+ support group. The other was an Anime fanclub...don't judge me.

School starts in two weeks so I still have some time to get to know may way around campus. One of the things that I loved about the school ( other than the fact that its a top notch art school) is the fact that freshmans can have cars here. Most colleges don't allow students to have cars until they are sophomores. I jumped into my old truck and cruised around listening to Nightcore.
I came across an old record store. I thought that it would be fun to go in and come out with some Beatles or Jimmy Hendrix so I went in.
Whoa. This place is COOL. I looked around. Shelves and shelves packed tight with CDs and records lined the walls everywhere. The store was so big and they used as much room as safety allowed them to jam pack it with music. Towards the back, they had framed posters with famous signatures like Pink Floyd and John Denver and (omg) even The Pogues! I walked through the countless isles and picked out a few records. One of them was Pat Daily Looking Back and the other was Sing to me Instead by Ben Platt.
I paid for the two records, looked back one last time, and went back in my truck. I drove back...home. That's weird. I don't know why but calling it home is weird. Oh! I know why. Because I haven't made any good memories here yet...accept for Amelia.

I turned the key to my dorm, stepped in, and sat at my desk. I've been settled in for about a week and I haven't warmed up on my drawing in like two weeks so I figured it would be good idea to get started. I took my pencil and paper out and let them take the lead. I had my new Pat Daily record playing in the back. I guess my pencil got to work during Queen of the Roundhouse because I ended up drawing a pair of cowgirl boots and hat sitting on a marble counter right next to a keg. I was impressed with myself. The hatching was almost perfect and it looked like a black and white photo with a textured filter.
Speaking of kegs, I'm in college and I look much older than my age. I should get my fake ID soon. I keep hearing people on my floor talking about 'getting mine from the bar alley,' and I asked one of them what that meant and they said that there was a guy behind Flannigans Bar who deals crazy realistic fake ID cards.
