"Can you hurry up Em? We don't have all day you know?" My friend, Sally with curly red hair called out to me impatiently from the lounge room where she was waiting along with my other friend Riley who was blonde and equally as impatient. I was frantically running around my room collecting different clothes and utility products. We were supposed to leave for camp about twenty minutes ago. It was a two hour drive, three if there was traffic. I always did this, left things until the last minute, homework, projects, replying to someone, you name it.

"Yeah I'm nearly finished just give me two more minutes I swear!" I yelled out in response.

"You said that ten minutes ago!" I heard Riley yell out.

"I'm almost done!" I looked down at the mess that was my suitcase, I had packed things I probably wouldn't even need, I'd packed my swimsuit which I probably would not be needing since it's winter time. A pretty pathetic time to hold a two week camp by the ocean.

The last of the clothes and a pair of shoes later I'm zipping my dark blue suitcase and walking out my room and shutting the door behind me.

I walked out to where my friends were waiting to go, they both looked up and sighed in relief, "Finally, now we can go," My blonde haired friend said.

We packed our luggage into the trunk, climbed into the car and began to sing along to the playlist Riley had made for us.

I had been excited for this camp since the beginning of the year, it was spoken about throughout our school, basically everyone in our grade was going for winter break. Kids from all over went to the camp, it was famous for being a getaway for the two weeks and not having a set schedule. There were programs but it wasn't compulsory to attend.

I was dozing in and out of sleep sat in the back while my two best friends sung the whole way there and before I knew it we were arriving at the front gates. We all climbed out of the car and walked to reception.

"Names?" The lady with a prominent scowl on her face asked sourly.

"Riley Henth, Sally May and Emma Forrester," Riley replied for us all.

The lady with black hair nodded and ran her finger down a list of names until she found each of ours, she leaned to the side and grabbed three keys off the wall next to her. She then handed us a key each, "Apartment 29 girls, welcome to Camp Seaside."

We thanked her and drove through the camp to where we found a cabin with the number 29 printed on the front. While getting our suitcases from the trunk we discussed what we wanted to do for the next two weeks.

"I want to meet a hottie, I've heard there's some good looking guys here," Sally giggled as Riley and I rolled our eyes, classic Sal.

"Well I don't know about you guys but I'm going to crack open a book on the beach," Riley said.

"Isn't it a bit cold for the beach?" I asked her.

"That's exactly why I brought this," She said, reaching into the back of the car and pulling out a large blue blanket that looked extremely warm.

"Prepared as always," Sally said, "So what about you Em?"

"Oh I don't know, I'll probably just do some painting. I haven't really thought that far ahead."

"You and your painting is like an obsession, you always paint, come on live a little, you too Riles."

"Nope I'm fine with my books," Riley shook her head.

"You guys! We're here to have fun and explore and have a getaway from reality. For the next two weeks us three are going to party," Sally danced around excitedly.
