Shalivahana Saka 222 (C 300), The Kingdom of Martanda

A month before the coronation of fifth emperor of the Martanda Rajya, the royal family welcome Princess Lavanya, a honoured guest to the coronation, who is the daughter to the King of Amravat, their loyal vassal and staunch ally.

Princess Lavanya, is an attractive woman with a warm and sweet disposition, who charms everyone around her. But, Queen Mrignayani, the Empress in waiting, though affable and courteous to the royal visitor, has her own suspicions as to the intentions of the guest, especially in the light of the growing camaraderie between the princess and her husband.

Were her suspicions a mere reflection of jealously or was there substance to her shadows of doubt and dislike?

This is a tale of misguided loyalty and misplaced revenge, a story of unexpected betrayal and unlikely allies; it is one woman's journey towards self discovery as she learns that what can be seen might be a lie, while that which is hidden could be true.
