The Ballad of Jean La Croix

Jean La Croix loved a boy

And everyone knew he loved her too,

But something tried to destroy

A love that was rare and true

Their love was true

Better than any love known,

But a she-demon thought she had a cure

For she wanted him for her own

She rose up from Hell with a wail

That sounded like souls were dying,

It made Jean pale, she almost fell

As the she-demon took off flying

Jean knew something was wrong

For she could feel it in her heart,

Meanwhile the she-demon sang her boy a sweet song

While Jean was falling apart

She ran from her house only to see

The she-demon with her boy,

The she-demon had a look of glee

This Jean did not enjoy

For boys are weak and can't resist

A she demon's wicked wiles,

For a she-demon can consist

Of tempting with many styles

Finally the she-demon gave him the kiss of death

But her eyes were on Jean La Croix

Jeans's love saw her with his last breath

But the she-demon killed her beloved boy

Jean stood there in disbelief

As his soul mouthed a sad farewell,

Jean was paralyzed with grief

As the she-demon took him straight to Hell

How Jean's world turned black!

Like an endless night,

She had to get him back

It was worth the fight

She planned to take her life

She knew where she would go,

She didn't care if sadness was rife

In this place full of woe

She found the courage and took a gun

And aimed it at her head,

Pulled the trigger; the deed was done

And on her bed she laid dead

Her soul fell straight to Hell

And her sadness multiplied,

Hearing wail after wail

Realizing she had died

She found her love in chains

And the she-demon did smile,

It gave Jean many pains

To see the wicked she-demon's guile

But the she-demon was shocked to see her here!

Could true love conquer all?

Did Jean take her life without fear?

 Knowing where she would fall

It was now Jeans's turn to look at her smile

For the she-demon knew love's ultimate rule,

She screeched all the while

While Jean played it cool

Jean would be with her love freely

Wherever he may go,

And Jean had made this clearly

Willing to suffer in Hell so

For love is what the she-demon will hate

When they know two souls are true,

For they know the sacrifice of love's pure fate

And knows what one will do

Jean's love's chain's fell as they arose from Hell

And Heaven took them in,

Before God, on their knees they fell

And God forgave them for each sin

Now in Heaven they reside

With a love that never died
