THE SHADES OF BLACK [ DANIEL x CORBYN ]

I SAW DANIEL IN THE HALLS, in the gymnasium for assemblies, i basically saw him everywhere. but every time i looked, he'd turn his head the other way.

it was recess, my least favorite time of the day, and i was walking up and down the fields boringly, kicking rocks and the dirt that laid beneath my feet. i had been planning what to say to daniel for three days now, and i think i'm ready.

i put my hands in my pockets as i walked up to his beautiful frame sitting on one of the rocks, "daniel."

daniel looked up at me, his hands were still as brown as they were a week ago. he didn't say anything, just pretended as if i didn't exist. 

suddenly all my planning had gone to waste as i couldn't remember a single thing i had been planning to say.

"i didn't mean what i said the other day." i explained, "i wasn't in a good mood, you have those days too, right?"

daniel still looked away. i sighed, "i- i just want to be your friend. you can forget what i said, i- daniel i miss you. recesses have been painful and they used to be my favorite time of the day."

i wished he had looked at me.

"i- i just want to say, i'm sorry if i hurt you. i really am. but you hurt me too."

and as i heard a small sniffle escape his lips, i turned around before the same would happen to me. i walked away, my foot steps ringing in my eardrums loudly like the drums, the pain that filled my body with every breath i took.

even my palm was hurting, and if i didn't know any better i would've thought that it was going to change color.

how stupid was i.
