Raw Heart

sublime, my mind beholds

another's subtle way

in all their expertise

and the art

with which they say

these deep and dark

and somber things

in the eloquence that

their hearts convey

Like a storm within a story

upon a raging sea

Perfect in its setting

for a character such as me

One who watches

on the bow

and feels the motion

of the wheel;

spinning the world around

Words escape

my better soul

So it's better yet

to just behold

A practiced artist

in their own right

upstage my own

raw heart

this night
