Two weeks had passed since Dean had been released from the hospital and for a while he seemed perfectly fine, but after about a week Cas started noticing differences in him, he had a lot of head aches that did ease a little with the medicine but he just didn't seem like himself. Cas was scared and didn't know what to do, he wanted to take Dean to the hospital but he needed to bring this up to him first, he didn't know if Dean was noticing these differences in himself or if he was losing memories. Cas was sitting on their bed listening to the sounds of pots and pans banging against each other as Dean was cooking breakfast, Cas smiled and put his book away and walked into the living room/ kitchen area.

Cas plopped himself up on a barstool and propped his chin in his hand and smiled at Dean who hadn't noticed him yet.

"morning, chef Winchester"

Dean jumped slightly and giggled at Cas

"morning, my boy" Cas smirked

"that's not my name"

Dean frowned as he scrapped scrambled eggs into a plate for Cas and slid it to him

"hm?"

Cas' heart dropped and he took a bite of egg "nothing, can I have some orange juice"

Dean nodded with confusion and got Cas a cup before he sat down to eat, himself. Cas didn't want to mention anything until after they ate so they could have a more serious conversation but the longer he looked at Dean the more he wanted to say something and eventually he broke.

"Dean... Can we talk" Cas stuttered

"yes, please. What did you mean but that's not your name? You're my boy right?!" Dean replied almost instantly

"Dean... Yes. But you have a nickname for me. Do you not remember?"

Dean poked at his eggs and a tear formed "I-I'm not sure"

"birdy?" Cas said wiping the tear away

"oh, yeah I remember that."

Cas ran his fingers through his hair "how could you forget that?"

"what are you saying?" Dean said without looking at Cas

"are you losing your memory Dean?"

Dean sighed. "I don't know"

Cas swallowed hard

"after you eat, I'm taking you to the hospital"

Dean closed his eyes and gulped

"what do you remember?"

"I remember that you're my boyfriend and that...."

Cas grabbed Dean's hand

"I don't know, Cas"

Cas rubbed his eyes "okay. Eat." he commanded as he walked back to their room and closed the door, he got his suit case out of the closet and packed it full of clothes in case they had to stay at the hospital again, they were going to go in a car this time. Bobby had repaired one from his junk yard as a get well present and they were both beyond greatful for it. After Cas finished packing he lied back on the bed and breathed deeply to try and clear his mind. He did this for a while, listening to the sounds of Dean's fork scraping his plate in the kitchen. Cas sat up and grabbed his book from his bedside table and opened it up but as he did something caught his eye. On the front cover on the inside it had a check out history and in every line it said

"Lizzy Haworth"

Six lines of "Lizzy Haworth" Cas rolled his eyes and went to his page and continued reading until Dean swung the door open violently. Well, at least he hasn't lost that part of his personality yet.
