{Chapter 9} Broken

I was alone in the train going to the Turf War location. When I arrived, there was already two people from our school.
"Who are you guys?" I ask raising an eye brow.
'Where is Blyke? Or Elaine?'

"I'm Ventus." This dude that had burgundy hair and red eyes introduced himself.

"I'm Meili." The girl next to him had cinnamon red hair and pink eyes.

'They must be Mid-tiers or Low-tears even.'
"Oh, so do you guys know what school we are fighting?" I ask.

They both looked at each other in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Meili asks.

"What do you mean what do I mean?" I ask once again.

"This is not a Turf War. Did Arlo not tell you?" Ventus said.

"Tell me what?"

"Oh there you are Arlo!" Meili looks behind me and greets Arlo.

I turn around and face the said name.

"What the f-." I see John right next to him.

"We were starting to think you weren't gonna show up." Ventus talks over me.

"Arlo, what the hell is this?" I ask him.

"Mind telling me what's going on?" John also talks over me.

'Why the fuck is everyone ignoring me?!'

Arlo walks towards us three, "Hold on, stay here for a sec." He says to John.

Arlo looks at Ventus and Meili while smirking, "Lock him down." He nods.

As soon as Arlo says that both Ventus and Meili charge after John with their powers.

"Arlo!" I yell at him, "What the fuck are you doing? Do you have the faintest idea of what you are-." 'But of course he does. He knows about John...Why else in the world would he even be here. He planned all this. But why am I here?'
"You know don't you?" I ask Arlo calmly.

Arlo stays silent, watching Meili and Ventus running towards John.

"You slick bastard." I praise with a grin.
I see Meili slash John's arm with her Demon Claws.

John groaned in pain, "Arlo, what the hell are y-?" John sees Ventus about to attack so he places his forearms in an x form in front of his face. Ventu's wind was way more powerful though. He send John flying.

'I don't like this at all. They are gonna hurt him. John do something. Defend yourself! How can you endure it?'
"Arlo please stop this." I say once again.

Arlo ignores me and watches as Meili presses her claws into John's neck slightly, "Surprise!" He smiles.

Ventus interferes and grabs John by the hair and arms making him kneel. Ventus smacks his head on the floor.

"ARLO!" John yells.

"Oh how rude of me? I haven't introduced these two yet! This is Ventus and Meili. I believe you've met before. They are the ones who broke your phone."

"H-how do you know about that?" John stutters.

"Woah, you really are oblivious! I'm the one who told them to do it." Arlo crosses his arms. Watching John from above.

"Wh-?"

"You never wondered why I was willing to tolerate you? Why would someone of my status associate myself with a cripple like you? I already warned you didn't I? I had no intention of ever being your friend. In fact, I quite despise you." Arlo's voice was playful but serious at the same time. "The real reason I brought you here today...is to put you down."

'And he wants me to watch? Or do something?'

"Yeah, you're such an eyesore! It's time you start acting like the peasant you are." Ventus adds.

"You are not part of this conversation. Fuck off." John growls.

Ventus punches John, "WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME?!"

"There is no one around for miles. So we have all the time in the world to ingrain this lesson into your head. You are completely powerless. Everything that you have experienced in the last few weeks...was by my will."

'Arlo...you are too smart for your own good.'

"Seraphina's suspension. Your limited contact with her. Your rescue from those four mid-tiers. And every encounter we've had afterwards. They were all facilitated by me. You have control over nothing." Arlo spoke slowly, "Got nothing to say? Still processing? Why dont you help him out? Meili."

Meili was about to attack.

"ARLO!!!!" John screamed unleashing black wind. Ventus and Meili were taken back. John stood up, his eyes glowing a yellow golden color.

'He's out.'

"You son of a bitch." John growls.
