eugene isn't sure what to think. he's curled up on his couch, absentmindedly stroking pesto's head. the little dog is almost asleep, mind calmed from the motions of eugene's fingers.
eugene, however, is far from being relaxed.
he's scrolling through the comments on their latest video, the one where he and keith were nearly cuddling. the closeness of the two didn't escape the viewers, and it sure as hell wasn't helped by the fact that zach seemingly edited the video so that there was ample footage of them together. "is the whole world against me, pesto?" eugene asks. he's answered with the sound of deep doggy breathing. pesto's fallen asleep.
"not you, too! you're supposed to stick with me in my time of need!" eugene continues, ranting quietly to himself before realizing just how crazy it would sound to anyone, were they listening. he groans and sits up, dropping his head into his hands. what has keith done to him? he's a mess.
and then, as he's despairing over his receding sanity, his phone goes off. he slowly reaches for it with one hand.
