"Alivia, what is the answer?" Mr. Payne, my hot math teacher, pulled me out of my daydreams.
"Uh-" I stammer, god, I'm so awkward. "I-"
My brothers best friend if 7 years, Calum Hood, leaned over to whisper to me, "16."
With a newfound confidence, I exclaimed, "16!" repeating what Calum had told me.
"You truly are simple minded..." Mr. Payne trailed off, "The question was, what is the square root of 64? Not 16, that is for sure. Pay attention, Irwin. And Hood, don't give out answers, you failed this class, don't make me fail you again."
I slumped back in my seat, cheeks ablaze. Calum snickered beside me. What an asshole, I thought, but that's no surprise.
Calum's POV
I really thought the answer was 16. I felt like a total fool, but I played it off, like I was bullying her. Per usual.
Alivia's POV
The rest of class went by painfully slow, I watched as the clock hands ticked by at an ever decreasing rate. When the bell finally rang, I rushed out of my seat, getting my feet stuck in the legs of the chair. It was all a blur, and next thing I know, I'm being cradled by the strong, warm arms of Calum Hood, my bully.
