MINUTES after my outburst in the pub
And your waterworks beginning to start up,
I had ended up, not on the streets,
But in the silken sheets of a stranger's bed.Watching me from the bedstand,
Was this doe-eyed angel
With the most voluptuous lips,
Eyeing me curiously.Increasingly fond of her I became,
Many a date and laughter we exchanged
With every meet of ours ending
With her in my bed.And she had begun seeing me as something more than a fling,
And I couldn't keep lying to my heart.
She was falling deeper into the pit that I had dug
And I couldn't stop getting out of the pit that you had dug.One fine day, I blurted it out the truth
She knew and hid her tears,
While I envied her courage, her strength
I hoped that she found someone better
And didn't end up like me.With a parting kiss, we broke apart
She turned her face away
And I knew, that for onceShe had succumbed to tears.
