MARIYA POV

My date with Alex actually went pretty well. He brought me to dinner, and right after, I suggested that we go to the club. The whole time during our date, I couldn't stop thinking about Lorenzo, so you know what I did? I got drunk so that I could stop thinking about him. "Mariya, let's go, I'll take you home," Alex said as he got off the stool at the bar.

"No, just one more drink," I begged, then giggled, and he shook his head.

"Mariya, No! You've had enough," he exclaimed, and I pouted.

"Fine, then let's go," I said as I hopped off the stool. I almost fell, but Alex caught me.

"You should not get drunk," Alex pointed out as we left the club. "Here, take my jacket, it's cold outside," he softly said as he removed his jacket and placed it on my shoulders.

"Thank you," I said as I got into his car. He helped me to get my seatbelt on, then went around to the driver's side. I did not know that the pizza guy had a car.

"Can I have some pizza... No, wait, could we get some cheese?" I asked, and he chuckled, then glanced at me.

"Cheese?" He asked, and I smiled.

"Nah, I was just kidding," I said, then giggled.

"Look at you, all flustered, the tip of your nose is red and cute," he said, then quickly tapped his finger on my nose. "How are you so beautiful?" He asked, and I looked at him. He was so focused, yet he asked me that question with a serious look on his face.

"I- I don't know, try asking God," I said, and he smiled.

"Very well... I'll thank God every day for creating such perfection," he said, and I giggled. It reminded me of something Lorenzo would say back in college.

The reason I got drunk was to forget all about Lorenzo, but now I can't stop thinking about the asshole. It was like the thorns that surrounded my heart for years were slowly being taken down by him, but every time I thought about getting hurt again, I simply watered them, and they grew back.

"We are here," Alex said as he pulled his car into my driveway. He got out, then walked around to my side. He opened the door for me, then took off my seatbelt. He helped me out, then led me over to the door.

"Would you like to come in?" I asked, and he nodded. I opened the door, allowing him to step inside. I slowly took off his jacket and thanked him again.

"Will you be okay?" He asked, and I nodded, smiling as I plopped into the couch. "Alright, I'll go get you some water," he said, then went into the kitchen. A few seconds later, he returned with a glass of water. He handed it to me, saying, "I found these pills in the kitchen, so if you wake up tomorrow with a headache, just take these with some water," then sat down beside me.

"I miss the girls," I said suddenly, and Alex looked at me, puzzled.

"Haley? Or the kids at the daycare?" he asked, confusion written all over his face.

"Yeah, they're at the daycare," I replied. He chuckled and nodded. I hadn't known Mia and Amelia for long, but the brief time spent doing mommy stuff had created a sense of attachment. I just wanted to be around them again; I couldn't wait to see them at the daycare on Monday.

"Would you like anything" I asked and shook his head and took a step forward, he came closer until their was no space between us he brought his hands up to my face gently cupping my cheeks. He kissed my lips, our lips slowly moved together, I wrapped my arms around his neck a while he nibbles on my bottom lip a moan escaped my lip and he groaned.
