Prologue:

Star City, the brightest city in Northwest America, you can see it from the stars. But deep within, it gets darker.

The King of Star, Malcolm Merlyn, he was the boss of the Merlyn Mafia. He was able to hide from the law by running a company that manufactured guns. He use to rule with his wife, Andrea, but she left him 7 years ago. He did have 2 wives before her, Rebecca and Moira, both gave him kids, but Rebecca died after complications during birth and Moira disappeared without a trace, leaving Malcolm to raise 3 kids. 

His second in command, Slade Wilson, also once had a wife, Malory. He was raised in an Australia Mafia were he met Malory and married her, they had one son, Grant, but like Moira, she disappeared, but she took Grant with her. He joined the Merlyn Mafia and made his way up the ranks. He was Oliver's teacher and taught him how to fight, shoot, and scheme. 

Together, they worked together to become some of the most feared Mafia bosses in the country, no one attempted to go against them. They built bridges with other mafias and arranged a meeting between Oliver and a sister of the Danvers Mafia, which lead them to fall in love and they were set to marry. 

While Oliver and Kara planned their wedding, Slade and Malcolm figured it was time for them to remarry. Enter the Lance girl...

Laurel Lance was the daughter of a crook cop on the Merlyn payroll, she stayed away from all crime, living in the shadows. At 18, she left Star City and became a lawyer, she tried to stay away from the Merlyns, but when her father calls, she has to come home...
