His eyes were a warm shade of mocha, almost caramel. When the sunlight captured his irises, they reflected a beautiful hue of copper that harmonized well together. When you look into them, you're floating above a forest or lost within the woods. It's hard to believe at first because you can't imagine something to ever be that beautiful.
His hair was a mess of brownish-blonde perfection. As if he could run his hands through it repeatedly and have it still look presentable. His face was like that of an angel, no amount of longing gazes he'd seen could ever really do him justice. Aiden Woods was the type of guy every girl helplessly wanted to be with.
"OK. You people disappoint me. Leave." Mr. Duke dismisses the class as the bell rang throughout the overhead speaker. He turns to the white board and replaced the date written in the center with the correct one.
Amelia, for obvious reasons had always been the last to leave. She wasn't the tallest person in the room and certainly not the loudest. Making it somewhat challenging for her to get through a crowd of hurried hormonal teenagers with her limbs still attached to her body. In the far corner of the room, she could make out Aiden packing up his things. She took a second look, vaguely confused. He was normally the first person out the door.
"Hey," he said, surprisingly approaching her. Reluctantly, she turned to face him. A look of uncertainty glazed over his eyes but to her, he was as confident as she'd ever seen him before.
"Hi," she replied. When he reached out to shake her hand, her body froze, unsure of what to do. In all fairness, she's not this nervous around anyone but he brought it out of her on an entirely new level. Once she snapped back to reality, she had forgotten where she was and who with.
What kind of idiot are you? Don't just leave him standing there! Hello....
Amelia's subconscious was harsh on her. Judgmental in a way that she couldn't possibly be on anyone other than herself.
"Sorry," her hand found his tight grip before he could pull away. Amelia felt pathetic and yet overwhelmed with curiosity. The inner workings of her mind couldn't come to a plausible conclusion as to why he would be talking to her right now. However, she wasn't going to question him. If the universe wanted to do her a solid, who was she to decline?
"It's okay. Another minute into this class and I probably would forget how to think to," he tells her just as soon as he releases her hand.
"Really?" He knew that look. People were often confused by him. It was always the 'you don't look like the type' to whatever when he saw that look in someone's eyes. And maybe Aiden didn't look like the type of guy to do anything but model in a sports catalog or have constant, meaningless sex with women.
She uses all the bones in her face and frowns slightly. Her hair even tilted downwards as if saddened by him all of a sudden.
"I thought you liked this class. I think, you're his favorite student," she said gesturing to Mr. Duke, who was currently typing away at his computer. Paying absolutely no attention to the two students who still lingered in his classroom.
"Ah, you noticed. Is it really that obvious," his eyes turning away for a moment.
She laughs. "Kinda. He only calls on you and you always know the answer. I try to study but between the rest of my classes I don't always have time to."
