"ah. you two must be the hylians that sidon brought here, correct?"

you nodded.

"you did well to come all the way here!"

you liked this king, he seemed extremely nice and caring. his first impression was humble and kind.

"i am king dorephan, ruler of the zora."

the king smiled at you, warmly.

his pale yellow eyes focused on link's sheikah slate and he spoke with interest.

"hm? that object upon your waist, young one...is that not a sheikah slate?!"

link took his slate off his hip and held it in his arms.

"HMMM?"

you jumped a little at the volume of the king's voice, link turned his head to you and smiled. you returned his with your bright one and his eyes glimmered.

"now that i've gotten a good look at you, it is all too clear who you are..."

link looked confused and placed his slate back onto his hip.

"you are the hylian champion, link!"

link looked shocked, and so did you. this was the first time where anyone had really realised who link was and the young hero couldn't help but feel happy when someone had remembered him. but his face said otherwise.

"that look on your face...do not tell me you have forgotten who i am!"

sidon interrupted the king.

"the hylian champion? you can't mean THE link? THAT champion?!"

sidon looked so surprised you thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head. link started to get nervous, he stepped closer to you and bumped into your shoulder. you slowly reached for his hand and he jumped from the contact, but then calmed down when he realised it was just you. you couldn't help but feel a bit left out. but you understood that you were just some ordinary hylian, so there was no reason to feel left out really.

the king coughed, getting your attention again.

"i cannot believe it. the hylian champion, link, has appeared before us...we have met numerous times, i'll have you know."

link raised an eyebrow.

"i'm sorry, your majesty. i don't remember a thing before calamity ganon..."

the king was taken back at link's response.

"well! it appears that you managed to survive after your fall in the battle. but you do not remember me? or anyone?"

-

"your majesty, i've been...um, sleeping. for a hundred years. and i've lost my memories..."

the king leaned forward and looked at link strangely.

"come again? you say you've been asleep for a hundred years AND you have lost your memory?"

link nodded.

"but surely...

you must remember my precious daughter, mipha, yes? you do, do you not?"

link stayed quiet, so did you.

mipha? as in...the zora princess?

link answered quietly with curiosity.

"mipha...i do not remember that name. who is she?"
