CHAPTER THREE - NUMBER FIVE

Start from the beginning

"what's the date. the exact date?" five asks

"the twenty fourth" vanya replies

"of what?" five asks almost imaptient

vanya flinches from his tone, regardless if he was a thirteen year old boy "march"

five relaxed a bit after vanya's answer "good." he nods

"so, are we gonna talk  about what just happened?" luther asks looking back at five

"it's been 17 years" he continued

"it's been a lot longer than that."
five says and takes a step forward, teleporting behind luther to grab something up from a shelf

"I haven't missed that." luther whispers

"where'd you go?" lilith asks, still not letting go of klaus' arm out if fear that she may faint

"the future. and it's shit, by the way" five answers

"called it." klaus says, a hand raised, earning a chuckle from lilith

"i should've listened to the old man, jumping through space is one thing,   jumping through time  is a toss of the dice." he says, sitting on the chair and began making his well missed and deserved sandwhich

he looks over at klaus and noss

"nice dress."

"oh, well, danke!"

"wait, how did you guys get back?" asks vanya

"in the end, i had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists across every possible instance of time." five answers nonchalantly, grabbing the peanut butter marshmallow sandwhich he had finished making

"that makes no sense." diego muttered, eyes widening in confusion. "well, it would if you were smarter." five smirks

before diego could react to five's comment, he meets lilith's glare and decides that it was best not to

"how long were you there?" luther interrogated

"forty-five years. give or take." five replied causing them all to take a step back, wide eyes in disbelief, speechless

lilith raises her hand to question them "so what you're saying is, that you are fifty-eight?" five's eyes meet the rest of his family, as he starts clenching his jaw.

"no, my consciousness is fifty-eight. apparently, my body's thirteen again." five clarifies

"wait, how does that even work?" vanya asked to wrap her head around it.

five chuckles, taking a bite off of his sandwhich "delores, kept saying that the equations were off. huh guess she's laughing now huh?"

lilith tilts her head, curious about this delores person "delores?" she asks, an eyebrow raised, but she was ignored by five

"hmm. guess i missed the funeral." five mused picking up today's paper, briefly looking over it

"how'd you know about that?"
"what part of the future  do you not understand?" five retorted in mocking tone.
