lilith rose hargreeves was known for many things; a business woman, fashionista, celebrity, CEO, a multi gazillionare if that even exists, and even at one point in time a superhero

but being patient was definitely not part of her traits

her polished pinked nails tapped the end of the long, rectangular glass table as all of her employees sat in silence, not listening to the presentation going on instead they glance at lilith, hoping that she doesn't fire them for breathing too loud

"and as you can see here," the slide on the flat screen tv changes, and it showed a line graph of the marketing stocks. it was reaching the top but if followed it slowly plummets to the ground "t-the sales have slowly started s-sinking...madame" the emcee struggles to find his words, almost dropping the remote control under the emotionless gaze of his boss

it soon became extremely quiet, the only audible thing being the sound of lilith's nails tapping the table and clicking of her heels

lilith clears her throat and begins to look through the documents that were given to her, everyone in the room still watching her every move "alice, what was the name of the executive artistic director?" she asks, not looking up

alice, her assitant emerges from the corner of the room, holding a clipboard on one hand and a pen on the other "amelie dumont, madame"

"send her in will you?"
"of course, madame"

alice takes off and barely a moment passes by before she came back with amelie by her side

"you wanted to see me madame?" amelie says with a confident grin, probably thinking that lilith was going to praise her for her work or even promote her

without looking up lilith nods over to the tv "do you know what that is?" she asks, tucking behind a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear

amelie squints at the stocks, not knowing anything about it "a bunch of lines i guess"

lilith slowly tilts her head to look at amelie, and immediately the entire room takes a sharp breath in, some started shaking their head at amelie, making gestures for her to stop talking

lilith points at the tv with the end of her pen "a bunch of lines? that's what you think it is? a bunch of lines?" amelie doesn't seem fazed at all and shrugs her shoulders "i mean, that's what they are right? lines"

the tension in the office starts to thicken as the employees continue gesturing to amelie to stop talking, but amelie doesn't not one bit.
and lilith was having none of it

"sweetheart," lilith stands up and slowly circles the entire room "i did not build a fashion empire just so the stocks could be called "a bunch of lines"" she stares at amelie, but she didn't seem fazed at all

"and i did not hire a talented artist like yourself just so you could give me your annoying little trust fund baby attitude" lilith approaches amelie who still held a confident smile on her face, making lilith more and more aggravated by the second

"so i'll ask you again," she points at the tv "do you know what that is?"

"stocks madame" amelie answers confidently
